Default Dupli-Color Caliper Paint

Product: Dupli-Color Caliper Paint Kit
Distributor:Advanced Auto Parts / Wal-Mart
Vehicle: 1997 Civic DX Coupe
Cost: $20.00
Installation:All needed items included, Brush,Cleaner, Paint, Tape, Stir stick.
Installation Time: 3-5 hours, depending on your technique.

After following the DIY posted here on our site, I quickly had my brake drums and calipers cleaned and polished of all old rust, old paint, and brake dust. The Dupli-Color kit contained the cleaner needed to degrease and clean all brake parts.

Using the stir stick provided, you must stir the paint for 1 minute or more, and then begin to brush it on with the supplied brush. The paint is very thin, probably more thin then other 2 part paint kits that you have to mix on your own. It took me roughly 10 coats, 1 per 10-15 minutes, to get a solod color, and even then the paint didn't hold well on the older paint that remained on the surface of the drums/calipers.

The color was yellow, and it looks good, after the 10th coat, it is guarenteed to resist temperatures up to 500* F.

My overall rating is a 6 out of 10. The kit is much better then any Spray Caliper Paint that you might find, but probably not as good as a slightly more expensive brand, that requires mixing. One kit is enough to do a car with 2 drums, 2 calipers, or 4 calipers easily.
