The Chop Shop - Graphic war

What's up everyone, I thought we could have some ball busting fun by making a photoshop war.... similar to that of the "Ride of the month".

I would like to ask someone who is not participating in the war to choose any image of any car and post it here. The only rules would be that you have to incorporate the posted image into your image. The image can be anything you want....as well as the car can be modified whichever way you want. I'm thinking that as soon as we decide on which image we're using, we should have something like 7 days to work on it. Sound good? And then hopefully we can get the attention of a moderator to set up a voting section.

If you would like to participate, just post and say "I want in!"

This is your chance to prove what you have. Nobody likes anybody that's all bark and no bite.

here is what I think...

i dont want another fight to break out. i dont want a world of trash talking...so do your talking with your work. this isnt "you got served" and i dont want it to turn into that..it was an awful, awful movie, but i think that this could be interesting. again, NO fighting. running all of these forums, and i access to tens of thousands of pictures, but call me selfish, lets see what people can do...i figure that since this is a good natured little competition, DCA and eyger are in, possibly 40..?

Remember, this is a way to show off what you can do, and people who arent going to contribute are not welcome to negatively critique!

I cannot use PS, although I do have it, i havent bothered to learn it, so i dont even know if it is possible to make my black and white car maroon with these pictures, but i think that it would be cool...

sniper, the reason that i said no trash talking is because that is how problems begin...like the guy at the track with the yugo making fun of other guys reaction times, yet he has never been on the track...:D

I think I'll step up and take moderation of this thread.

Since everyone has hectic schedules which is understandable, I will give everyone until September 27th to sumbit there work. On September 28th I will post a new thread in Chop Shop with a poll of all sumbitted work and the voting will last exactly 7 days. Then we will have our winner and then we can do it all over again :D

Any objections?

Also if anyone breaks Pats rule about trashing talking it will be removed and if it gets out of hand we wont be afraid to[sm=lockeddance.gif] this thread and not allow any "graphic wars" :)

i dont know enough about PS..is it feasible for someone to do what i asked?

Yes, it is definitely feasable, however it takes some time. Another thing that would help is if you had a high res version of you Stratus that we could use. That will help get a more "believable" color change, without that, changes are it will end up a mostly single flat color.

just the base paint still have alot of work on that..i have to touch up that and then ill put in highlights and more reflections

btw some of you might want to go corel painter.... the program that SHOULD be used for something like this when your trying ceratain ways... ps is for editing, adjusting and adding stuff to photos, making stuff that that escort thing eydger did. The stuff you guys are trying to do on photo shop is going to take forever. On painter, you end up with something like this...a photo of me that i changed a few years back. Just about the same thing were tryin to do to the car.

i am also intrigued....how do you fake a photochop?

there was no personal skill put into that. the way its trimed and i have a very good monitor that can pick up more colors then most and i can see that it was cheeply masked and adjusted. as n put a red transparent layer over the picture. might as well just steel somone elses chop and adjust that. take just as little time\


oh and he said no fighting, and no comments from anyone whos NOT posting chops. i believe i have.

i dont think that i could have figured out how to do that in paint...or PS, even though i do have several photo programs...

Oh come on. That's totally against the spirit of this "friendly competition" which was started to END the trash talking.

all im saying is that we (whoever is doing this comp.) lots of spare time into trying to make these how they are wanted. so for someone to mask the whole car a red, might as well just use that nifty fill tool again like we had on the wheel fender.

im not trying to be an ass, or say you dont know what your doing or that you suck or anything.. im just saying that way of doing this is cheep and fake. to me at least. which makes me not want to continue this "fun" compatition

Um, after reading though this, I can't see what you're all upset about DAC. She just used a different technique, no one ever said how you had to do it. Ever think that she maybe does this professionally? There are a lot of people out there with a lot of tallent, and a lot of them go to the college I do/mxs use to go to.

for one..i clearly stated that i wasnt saying anything about that persons skill level.

i deff. didnt say it was wrong for changing colors, i said they way people are trying to do it, like how we did those fenders, you dont really wanna use PS, painter is better. and to do what you just did, to me is cheep if were tryin to have a little comp. here...noone gets that. if we all just do it that way. then no ones is different. then whats the point. which is why i said im done if thats how its gonna be cuz then i can just go do that too and then they willl be the same. i think we need a different idea for this friendly comp. to work. because everyone is gonna post on here about how they can adjust the color. which involves no skill or creativity.

i hvae photoshop starter additon that came with my comp...but maybe you guys know how to use it?...i think its basicaly only for making like albums and stuff.....or am i just dumb and cant figure it out?
