Nawzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I am thinking of buying a NOS kit. But I have a few question.
I have a d16y8.
I am thinking of going with a wet kit (safer), even though I prefer the simplicity of a dry kit.
Here are my questions:
*What is the safest shot I should go with?
*Do I have to upgrade my ecu, or any engine components(mods to car
nly intake)?
*Is it like the movies too were, my engine might explode?
*What side-effect might I expect.
*and finally thanks for any comments........peace.

I do not know too much about nitrous, however i do know that a 50 spray shot wouldnt prob be the limit on stock internals. If its done right ur engine shouldnt explode. Pretty sure your stock fuel setup is okay for it, but beefing it up might help. Hmmm now as far as fuel management, stock should be fine. Correct me if im wrong here.
i believe that Zex recommends that you change to their nitrous spark plugs, but my buddy runs a 55 shot in his 1995 chrysler sebring (2.0L 5 speed, 175,000 miles), and in two years of heavy nitrous use, it hasnt affected anything. the only side effect that i have noticed is that his car idles a bit higher than before. i raced this car at a few events, and the 50 shot brought the car from a 16.50 to a 15.50...and a quiaffe and stage 4 clutch brought it from 15.50 to a 15.10...
like you said, a wet kit is safer, and on compeltely stock internals, ive seen guys run up to a 150 shot in an LS1, but his motor came apart, from what i understand. i would try a 50, but no bigger than a 75 or so...just my opinion...if its not your DD, and you dont care if something breaks, go crazy...there is a guy on a mustang forum that is running a 250 shot on stock internals, but it wont last long with that...
if im not mistaken, that engine should have a knock sensor to account for the timing issues.
one thing, have an activation switch to control the system, but wire the control into the TPS...dont be one of the morons who just runs an on off button and fries his engine...

50 = dry , 75 = wet w/ fuel adjustment

I agree upto a 50 shot a dry kit is enough, I dont understand why people speak on dry kits as if they will automaticly blow your engine cause it aint true. People runn simplr turbo and sc setups on stock fuel systems up to 5/6 psi and that is all the time type stress. With anything there are pro's/con's and a right/wrong way to do it. Companies simply would not put a kit on the market that is going to kill all their customers cars(atleast a company with a good rep such as Zex, NOS, and NX)
Do try and go with NOS or NX nozzles what ever you do though and also make sure to run rpm activation "pills" so it will not engauge untill after 3000rpm and will stop spraying at 6500 to 6700rpm cause the last thing you want with any FI nos included wet or dry is to be spraying and have the ecu to cut fuel at your rev limiter
