 My Civic was stolen ~ 1 month ago. I got a call from the Police department and they found my engine in So Cal. Apparently the engine was found after a street race. The rest of my 2000 Civic SI is still missing!![:'(] So far the good news from this whole mess is that my insurance company valued the loss at a fair price.

What are they doing to the people who had the engine?

Where do you live?

You should press charges and for info onto where the rest of the car is. To the fullest extnet of the law.

It doesn't sound like he got it back, it sounds like the insurance company offered him cash.

The guy that stole the car now has the DA against him. I am not sure what the sentence is for grand theft auto but I'm sure he ain't gonna like it. I always knew if you play with fire you will get burned. Maybe the guy will learn that crime doesn't pay. As for as the car now, the insurance co. owns it, and I think I get the first bid on it if I want it back. I have to check that out.

When my Si was stolen the insurance company wouldnt let me buy it back. Be ready for them to tell you that. It sucks.

Every insurance company is different. Even if they let you buy the car back, i dont think it is worth it. It will have a Salvage Title to it. It pretty much wont be worth any $$$, but just sentimental value. With that Salvage title to it, if you want to sell it, you wont get much for it.

its easy to get rid of salvage title my car used to have one...atleast here it is just have it inspected
