Autocross and Road Course Racing - Sniper gets pwned at AutoX

Ok, lets see if this works. Streetfire is being a bitch so Putfile gets the call.

This is my first attempt at editing video as you will be able to tell. I didn't put music over it for you to be able to hear everything. Unfortunately that includes my woman's commmentary. I dont' think she realizes there is a microphone on the camera.

But you can hear the SC whine at the takeoff, followed immediately by the slipping of my clutch into 2nd gear. Enjoy.

Well, I think I just took too much weight out of the rear of my car. It threw my weight distribution all off and the back was loose all day. It was a 2 or 3 cone slalom going into a 270* and I just got out of shape. I did have 5 runs that were better than that, but that one is the coolest since I have never spun out.

I have some other video of some of the other cars I am gonna put up. I will be bombarding you guys with video now.

Did you guys hear that mean ass Mustang? Yeah, that's one of the other cars in my class. I actually beat him though, hee, hee.

I need to make an autocrossing video. One showing how the Civic doesn't like to turn and another of me despirately trying to put 307 RWD HP down through corners in the 928. Nice video.

I know what you mean. I took the 300+ Mustang out last time. Can you say oversteer? Fun though, but the last course was a lot tighter than the one in the vid.

Great vid Street Sniper, Congratulations on your wonderfull skills, and great car. I've never done it myself, but it takes a lot to get out there with a civic and reshape the ricer crap image and make people actually say, "damn those things are fast and handle like crazy!". The best part is when they ask at the end you what you have and all you say is intake, header, exhaust, and strut/sway bars. not much, but look what not much can do!

What kinda tires do you run?

Cheap trash that was on the wheels when I bought them. I don't think I can afford anything too sticky. I may get a set of dedicated track tires when I win the lottery.

ehh, get some Falken Azenis Sports. they go for about 65-70 apiece, and stick like hell in dry. wet is another story:D

well they better be dedicated to the track then, anybody that knows louisiana knows that the summer time is nothing but wet.

gotcha. Yeah, like sac said I was going to recommend some Falken's, as thats what was on the car I AutoXed in Texas and they were perfect. I'm hoping to have a set of track tires next summer, but i doubt it will happen. I'll end up dropping all my money on other goodies:D

dude im rolling continentals.... i slip when i launch at 2500rpms.... thats freakin sad.

mine's wrapped in fuzion zri's. they perform pretty well on the d, but never had any serious torque on them. they give way at about 40 going into a 90 degree turn tho. the ass end is light and it slides about 3 feet then catches again. never pushed it any harder than that in a turn. they grip well in wet tho, never had a problem with that.

i cant download the damn vid on this snail computer sniper, but i cant wait to see you spinnin out in the super d. i'll be over there in about 3 weeks to spin your ass out when i fly by in the ex. heh heh

Yokohama Avid H4s rubber on mine. Sticky Sticky (for stock 185/65R14's) on dry and wet.
