ECU Tuning & Fuel Management - Mini me ecu

What ecu should I use for a mini me swap of a ex d16y8, should I go with the stock ex p2p ecu or convert to OBD1 then get a different ecu? Keep in mind I am going to mill the head, port and polish it and eventually end up putting in a S/C.

dont mill the head if you are planning to go FI. it will raise compression and you will have detonation issues with the SC. and personally, id go obd1. its a lot easier to tune.

What is an OBD1?

OBD1 is the electronic name for 92-95 civics (someone correct if I'm wrong) 96-00 civics are OBD2. You can buy a harness off Ebay from $50.00 to $150.00 that will convert your OBD2 civic (96-00) to OBD1. The reason it is preferable to do this is because you can run a P28 ECU (or any other that you want) and they are easier to tune and chip than the OBD2 ECU. I'm going to convert to OBD1 and get the p28 ecu and have it chipped. By chipped they raise the fuel/air curve, adjust the vtec (sometimes) and it supposedly adds 10-20 Hp depending on what you have done ie. headers, intake, exhaust, cam etc. One guy off ebay will even ask you all the mods you have then chip your ecu accordingly
