The Lounge - need some advice

i have alittle problem. i had alittle encounter with some ice the other day and the ice won. so know i need to know if i should get it repaired or buy a new one. so far i know it need both air bags, hood, front bumper, radiator, and the thing to the right of it. i think that its called the ac compressor. Some other odds and ends. I know the headers are find so i am assuming theres no engine damage. hope the pic help. thanks. oh by the way the car is a 97 honda civic dx 4dr. the other thing is what kinda car world be the most bang for the buck for 7 grand?

A little encounter with some ice? It looks like u drove into the side of a glacier, possibly the same glacier that sunk the titanic. Anyway the thing to the right of the radiator is an A/C condensor, and yes it looks like ur gonna need a new one. Are you gonna do the body work yourself?

Yeah well what happened was i hit some ice then lost control and hit 2 mailboxes. i swear the one was off of a battle ship the thing was 1/4 in steel. this mailbox would have sunk the titanic. i was not planing on doing the body work myself. i could do some of the body work like the hood and the bumper but i can paint it.

With how that looks, I'd have 'em do a once over on the framework too while they're fixin' the body damage. Sorry to hear you didn't win though! :(

Get the unibody checked out..if it's screwed, get a 5th gen coupe or hatch, with a blown motor...should be dirt cheap, swap your motor in and whatever else you wish to keep, than sell the parts from this car...and voila...you have a modding budget:-D

Ouch, looks like that mailbox tore you up pretty good. A few layers of bondo should do the trick.

i would like an audi but there not the cheapest cars and when you have to buy parts for them they are not cheap either.

I hate VW so that in turn ='s no Audi will ever sit in my driveway, if a freind ever bought one I'd make him park on the other side of the road lol.

dammmm thats a couple of nasty mail boxis...that looks pretty bad and i guess you dont have collition?..i would just try to sell it and see how much you can get, or i like that 1 guys idea..just buy a really nice shell and drop the motor inside, a shell will be really cheap and just got to pay for the swap and your set

Your gonna need some new A/C hoses too. And i don't live VW, Audi i can see buying cause they have that Quattro AWD. But a VW, no way (unless it was a Veyron). Both VW and Audi don't look that good. Same with Benz, some of the worst looking cars ive ever seen hold the Benz emblem.

Now I dont "hate" on VW and Audi but I just dont like them.

i just took the ac out cuz i dont feel like buying all those line and such. plus i never use it.

You might still want A/C cause it does unfog your car. My A/C clutch is blown and it only works some of the time. If its like raining or snowing, it is a PITA to try and drive with all the windows fogged up. I would recommend keeping the A/C.

wow... i think thats about how much damage i did to my car..and i hit another one comming at me at 45..and i was gong at it at like ..45... soo owies... id say do a swap
