I'm doing a timing job on my '89 LX and I can't find the timing marks to aline the cam and crank. I just did this on an '85 prelude, but the marks don't appear to be in the same place. My manual says that they are on the pulley, but i didn't see any. Thank youfor your time and any help

the cam pulley says up, that is your cam timing mark with the #1 piston at tdc.

But how do i tell when the #1 piston is at TDC? The other honda I did this on had marks between the engine and trans to line up exactly. Thanks for your help

alexander, you can tell when #1 is at TDC by removing the distributor cap and looking at the rotorbutton. If it points to the HVwire on the cap going to #1 sparkplug then #1 piston is at TDC. If it is 180 deg. out then you are on the exhaust stroke of # 1 and have to keep turning until the engine until it points to #1. It is best if you had a manual - they explain it all in detail.

All this assumes that you have not fiddled with the distributor.
