as far as we know, D17 engine for 2k5's civics are not impressive in regards for power, is that possible to put a B16A (I prefer B16A coz 1.6 DOHC VTEC) on the 2k5's civics (4dr) and if yes, which stuff do i need. thanks.

look into an rsx-s motor. it is better suited to that swap. the engine bay isnt really set up to take a b series motor, but the new k series is better anyway.

ya u need to find a k20a2(rsx type s) and go all motor
or get a k20a3 and turbo that bitch
check out 7thgencivic.com
it helped me out a lot

my friend has an rsx-s and he had, headers, intake, test pipe, exhaust, programable ecu and he was killin. mustang gt's, s2000's, wrx (not sti), srt-4 so the k20 is the way to go.

i saw a guy at the track and he had a type s with basic bolt-ons that he drove to the track from LA, bolted on slicks and skinnies and hit twelves. And i was talking with the head engine builder at Comptech and he said the k-series was the future of Hondas. they are just better than the b-series. and i say this as a person who has/loves a hybrid civic.

yeah, the b motors really put honda on the map, but the k searies is just insane. it is a very well built motor.

what about a k24 block with a k20a2 head?
Lets see:
2.4L + badass k head = fun!

the piston speeds would obliterate that motor in a matter of seconds. the stroke is too long to handle an 8k redline. its possible with a full build, Skunk2 did it, but i dont have as much money as they do, i dont know about anyone else...

it would be fun, you would have a torque monster, but u just would be able to rev as high. it would be at 7 instead of 8.

The current K series motors are without a doubt the future of Honda technology. There are really three options when doing a K series swap.
1) Go with the K20A2- Go all motor.
2) Go with the K20A3- Use its low compression for boost.
3) Go with a K24 block and top it with a head from the K20A2- CRVTEC has been done before. Youll have a torque monster but you will have to give up some in the top end.
What you do depends alot on what you plan on doing with the car. Is it your daily driver? What racing (auto-x, road racing, drag racing) do you plan on doing with the car? Some sites that might be able to help you are 7thgencivic.com and hybridracing.com.

K24 bottom ends extra displacement comes in the form of stroke not different pistons. The K24 hold 8000rpm just fine but is not put into a sports car so there is no need for it to be able to rev that high

K24 bottom ends extra displacement comes in the form of stroke not different pistons.Huh? thats the problem. different pistons wont change displacement anyway. if the stroke is longer, then the piston has to move farther in the same amount of time, so the pistons speed is WAY higher, and thats already a weakness of the K20, with an 86mm stroke.

The stock K24's rev to 7000rpm(redline) and the rev limiter grabs at 7400ish rpm, the K20A head will be ok with that and it is well worth the swap because you get a good 50 more ft lbs of tq on top of about 40 more hp

still, revving to 8k on that block is pushing it. i guess longetivity is too much of a concern for me. now, most peopel who are doing these hybrids are setting the redline closer to the 7k than 8k, so if you do that, then its feasible, but i personally would rather have a 2.0 that revs to 8500 happily, than a 2.4l that grudgingly revs to 7500. but i have never been a huge fan of displacemnet over revs.
