i know a lot of you out there play guitar. so do i. i know tony posted a pic of his guitars a while ago...so here are some of mine..well...mine and my dads...but i play them a lot more than he does.

from l to r:

Gibson acoustic of some sort (not sure the model name...i looked up the serial number and all it told me was 1970-75)

My first guitar. Ovation Applause AA13 3/4 size acoustic guitar. plastic back, maple top, rosewood fretboard

Guild 12-string. again...not sure on the model...my dad got it on a closeout sale a few years ago for 350 bucks (down from over a grand)

My baby. Custom built, fender strat body and neck, Seymour Duncan jazz humbucker in neck, SD Hot Rails in middle, SD humbucker in bridge(dont know the specs on that one...my uncle said it would sound good and bought that for me), Jaguar toggle switch setup (one per pickup, up position is Single Coil mode, center is Off, down is Humbucking mode), Master Volume, Master Tone, Neck Pickup over Bridge pickup volume, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, pearl dot inlays. locking tremolo (i might rout it out and install a floyd rose)

Gibson ES-355. Gibson factory ES-335 pickups and electronics, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, trapazoid pearl inlays, bigsby tailpeice, all gold hardwear. 6-way toggle switch (i still quite havnt figured out how it works), stereo output. needs maintenence. bubbling pickguard and rusting wires, one pickup shorting out.

Martin Backpacker 1st model. 15 frets, 15 ounces, rosewood fingerboard, maple body. my friend took one out to new mexico when we were backpacking. really light and good for the yearly trip if you dont wanna lug around a full size guitar.

yep...thought you guys might be interested in those.

i envy you and your jackson.

right now im in the market for a metal guitar. heres my criteria:

2 humbuckers (prefferably EMGs but i can replace those if i need too), floyd rose tremolo, 24 frets, shark fin inlays, fretlocks, id like a Randy Rhodes style body or a King V...but i'll settle for a different body if i can find the humbuckers, tremolo, and frets in one guitar.

so far ive been unsuccessful.

i was actually stuck between a randy rhodes RR5 and the soloist. but i figured the V would be a pain to haul around because its massive. and sometimes i get tired and like to play sitting down which was possible but its definently easier with the soloist. but i personally dont really like the floyd rose. the ibanez has one and i never really used it much. so when i was shopping for the jackson i wanted to find one with a hard tail. and just about every jackson fits your criteria. whats your price range? because the sl3 soloist is amazing but i couldnt afford it. also esp has really nice guitars.

and im almost positive it also comes in a floyd. but the $1799 price tag kept me away

btw i really like your custom strat body. hows it play?

well ive been looking at jacksons for a long time and they always seem to have two of the three main criteria..but none of them have all three. again...24-frets, floyd rose, 2 humbuckers.

i love my strat. since each toggle switch has its own setting..there are a ton of different combinations...27 i believe. so you can make it sound like anything out there.

strat is Center and Bridge on single coil, neck off
tele is Neck and Bridge on single, center off
sg is Neck and Bridge on humbucker, center off
les paul is all three on humbucker
generic ibanez sound is bridge on single, neck on humbucker, center off...

anyways you get the point.

it plays beautifully. fairly fast action...i think its a standard fender neck so if youve played a strat you know what the feeling is on one.

Edit: I don't have a Gibson at all (I'm an idiot) I just went and got it and it's a Guild... Our high school had Gibsons. I use to have a Fender Mustang too... long story. No electric now. I should get back into playing more but I'm determined to get really good at piano.

I've only been playing for about a year but im not to serious about it. i dont play in a band or anything, just for fun. i got a Fender Squier with a Dean Markley pick up and a Fender amp. nothing special. for some reason i cant get pics on my comp. but ill post them later.

i remember when i was looking for a new guitar i went to just about every shop within an hour drive. and played more guitars than i can count. i was pretty much dead set on a gibson les paul but at the last second diceided that i wanted a metal guitar. which was the best decision ive made

And some no-name acoustic my dad gave me from when he was a kid. It has a really nice sound though.

Ive been playing for about 2 years, and with what Ive got, dont really plan on buying much else. Too busy buying car parts...

being picky is a good thing. i believe its around the $600 range. it plays awesome and i probably would have gotten it if i was looking for a floyd rose. and i think the top ones a little cheaper

Alvarez (Actually my girlfriend's guitar, but I havent started teaching her yet)
My very first guitar, total strat rip-off, but I'm in the middle of upgrading it to near-strat standards.
Johnson Thin Body electric acoustic, I absolutely love this guitar, best sounding thin body I've ever heard.
And then my baby, the Ibanez. Basic RG-170 with new pick-ups. I like to keep this one tuned down to C, niiiiiice n' heavy.:D

I'll post a pic of the amp set-up tomorrow, their on my work computer.

i was looking at some ibanez RG series...the seven string. but it only had 22 frets and that turned me away from it.

i like the jack daniels poster
