Default vtec solenoid

Whats up guys, i was telling ppl on here about how my cars vtec dont kick in until almost 6000 rpm,(Its a b16a) and i was asking if i changed the computer could that make it kick in earlier, and some kid told me to try and clean the filter in the vtec solenoid. Nnow would that work or if i change the computer could that work or will i just have to settle for a vtec controller, or leave it at 6000?

for the price of a vtec controller id get the ecu chipped. tune it for max power and be better off in the long run over the vtec controller. although a vtec controller is mad bling. i miss mine in a way

Since we are talking about vtec controllers. Can they make it kick in earlier or do they just adjust how hard it kicks in? What kind would be a good kind to get? Brands?
