my vtech controller kicks in at 5000 rpm. should i set it to kick in earlier?? to get more power in lower rpm?

no, the bigger cam hurts low-end power. thats why muscle cars with big cams idle so rough.

hey guys...im puting a vtec head on my car in the next week or so (whenever it gets here)...my vtec is going to be on a switch so i can kick it in whenever id like...the guy who i am buying the head from is helping me on the installation via email and pics and stuff...what is the ideal time for vtec to kick?>...im also puting a tach so i can tell for sure on the rpms...

i think stock is around 5200, but im sure someone here knows for sure. but just so you know, try looking into wiring a vtec ECU, you need the fuel maps to get the full benefit of the VTEC.

so get like a p28 ecu?..how hard is it to put one in?

an apexi vafc would probably be cheaper and you should probably go with that.
