Well I had this nasty looking front bumper as you can tell from the pics, and I decided to do something about it. I got a new bumper with no holes in it, bc my previous one had tears in it.I sanded it down using a palm sander and 220 grit sandpaper.I sanded it completely,Got some spray cans of duplicolor milano red paint from walmart.I also got a filler primer to cover any minor mistakes, I sprayed 3 coats of the paint...2 coats of primer and this is the results, I still say it could use about 3 more coats of clear to get the high gloss of the factory finish, but cant be displeased with these results.

How come I can't see the pics?
I think you need to do a more entailed write up if it looks as good as all the responses are saying.
fixed your pics, you have to use [IMG] tags, not [IMG] tags

Thanks for all the responses guys.I used dupli-color clear as well. Thanks for fixing the links mxs, they were just taken from photobuckets website, and I didnt know I had to change them.Mill, Im not sure about the durability of a rattle can either, but I do plan on doing a paint job to the car in the near future, but want it to look nice in the mean time.As for a more detailed write up, what else would you like to know street? I used a palm sander(not orbital, just a regular block sander)I used 220 grit.I hand sanded in the grill area, same grit. Then I took a hose and rinsed the whole bumper.Dried it will paper towels, and took a tack cloth to the bumper. The finish is incredibly smooth Im very satisfied with the dupli-color products. CAN WE GET THIS MOVED TO THE DIY SECTION PLEASE?

That looks like it turned out pretty damn good... I did that to the bumpers of my intrepid to two tone it, that dupli-color is nice. It should last for a while, only thing that killed mine was kicking icicles off of it... [:@]

There is already a "Painting Parts" DIY... I guess it can't hurt to have two, I'll let mxs (Or whoever) decide.

He is definately right about the quality products thing. One thing that i have noticed that helps a LOT when painting is getting an airbrush. I just picked up at $50 airbrush at a local hobby shop, nothing too big, just large enough to do stuff like side skirts and other random things. You can get a MUCH better finish with it and make is look nearly professional while spending less than a fifth of what you would spend to have it done professionally.
The bumper looks AWESOME though, and as absolute said, it does look 10x better!

I actually have a professional spray gun and am actually going to get into professional painting this year, I just dont have the place to do at the moment.Im hoping to find a place cheap, bc I can completely sand a car and prime it in a half day.Im gonna try to do paint jobs for 1000 for friends.Using my car as the first example of course. As for those two little things stickin out of my grill it is actually a liscense plate fastener.I have not done the hood yet, I plan to do it this weekend, dont worry I will post pics of the progress, I want my civic to eventually get Ride of the month...lol.
