How do you change pressure spring?
If your talking about the wastegate spring, i think its located inside the wastegate. I heard my teacher telling us that you can strech the spring (thats the ghetto way of doin it). If you strech it too much, you will end up at more than 7 PSI. You could get a new wastegate that is already set at 7 PSI or get a boost controller. I think a manual boost controller runs about $70 or so, but i've heard they are not stable. An electronic boost controller runs like $200. A boost controller will do exactly what its name implies, it allows you to change the amount of boost your turbo puts out by "hiding" boost from the wastegate. (i dunno who wrote that, it was on HCF, but its a good way of describing it)
if the wastegate you have is external(mounted on the turbo manifold) then you can just buy the stiffer spring for the inside and replace it fairly simple. But if your wastegate is internal(mounted to the turbo in a gold little canister) then you will need to buy some kind of boost controller because internal ones you do not want to tamper with.
Yea, its the internal, it has the little golden mold (canister) on the turbo. So if I just got an electronic boost controller, I dont have to worry about no springs or anything like that? What does that wire in to? What are some good names out there? I havent even looked in to any.
Stick to name brands when getting a boost controller. Electronic ones are expensive.........but better. GReddy, turboXS (not xspower) Turbosmart.......etc.........I wouldnt go crazy with the boost with just the FMU........
With my internal wastegate, where would the conroller be wired in to? How hard is it to intal and whats all invloved?
Yea, I tell ya its addicting. It does feel kinda weak on 5.5-6 PSI. I mean, I can spin 4.5-5 k and be putting out 6 psi. Im figuring with the walbro, the fmu, and the stock injectors that should be able to take a pound or two, I should be ok.
jeez, what's it been, 3 days and you're already looking to up the boost?!?
Hows this one? What does it wire in to and whats all involved? If this one will work out fine Ill get it, let me know people with knowledge!

If you want more boost just cut the shaft on the wastegate rod in half. Thread both ends and put a threaded joiner in the middle. You can then turn the joiner to push out the rods and keep the gate closed longer.
Berz out.
Berz out.
I wouldn't do that because that is asking for overboost...plus it's cumbersome...but if you do it, make sure you get a quality joiner, and make sure that it doesn't move by itself.
