I was searching over the net for turbo setups for my civic and found this site to be one of the most informative on the net (congrats!!)
So I join it and hopefully I can help you guys out. I work near different junk yards and I go in pretty much everyday. I saw the grocery list for the turbo DIY and was wondering if there is anyother turbo that will work on the custom setup besides the dsm turbo because I usually find a crapload of different turbos on the cars in the yard. I you guys can tell me what to look for I will gladly find some and pass them on to the forums. Just pay me for the cost of the turbo (no mark ups) or what ever is needed. Thanks.

Any turbo is a good turbo.. usually the trim is cast on the turbo somewhere itself... Good on ya for helping out the community. Just make sure the impellers spin freely and make sure you check for shaft play (grab the shaft that hold the impellors and see if it wiggles If it wiggles around its bad)

Also post what car it came off cuz you can research the turbo size if you know what car it came off.

Berz out.

Welcome aboard ringstars, glad to have yet another helpful member here on HCF.

The ones mentioned above are good options, and I have also seen a few poeple use Volvo Turbos. I'm not exactly sure what the specs are on them, I just know I've seen a few here and there. So, that is another option you could look into.

What are the details on your car, pics are always a plus. :D

Enjoy your stay!

well right now I barely logged on yesterday so I havent had time to set my account up but right now i have a 92 vx hatch and the super muscle car eater engine; the 1.5 L Honda Vtec-E! Lol. I almost sure Honda made that engine with like a base hp of 500 to 600. J/k

As the turbo thing goes there are a few volvos in there and I think two saabs. Im going to get the info off the turbos and see if its worth taking out. I will post it up no later than saturday.

for a smaller turbo i really liked my old t28 from the skyline.......fully spooled around 3500 and it sat me directly into the seat from then on.......no gradual pull, just nothing and bam its all there. although the specs are a little weird being .62/.80 but hell i loved it more than the t25 and 14b found on eclipses.

For one of the best power bands I have ever seen on a D series check out the turbo on the WRX.

All right then i found some turbos in the yard and they run like 120 with 30 day warranty. But Im going to wait because they have 1/2 off specials every month on parts so when the next one comes around im grabbing a few. In other words give me 3 weeks or so and the turbo is only like 60 bucks!! Lol

If you guys are interested in one tell me please so when i get them you can pick them up. I dont know how to ship anything so if you ask me to ship I need someone to help me with that. In other words I would rather hand it to you in your hand. Like I said Im not marking these things up, you get the receit with it. Yet any donations would be helpful.

Nissan T-28's are the best I've found for boosting Civics.

damn i havent been around lately but now im back. I live in palmdale ca but the junkyard is in sun valley. They are having the half off sale in I think 2 weeks I will post the date as soon as i find out so that way you guys can pull your own if you want. Note: as of right now there is only volvo turbos there but they are going to put more cars in to the lot in like two days. The only turbo I have right now is a TD05 starion turbo but i dont know if im going to get rid of that yet.
