I know this is a civic forum, but i am thinking of doing an Accord project but i don't know what type of engine swap to do. I don't want a 2 door accord but i want to do a 4 door sleeper with maybe a turbo and NOS, but i am not sure yet. I wanted to know what a good motor to put in the car and what type of sh*t to do to the motor, and i was also wondering if they make shift kits for automatics. I would appreciate the input.</P>

how much are you willing to dump into this project? a four door is so heavy, you are gonna have to build that thing out to make it go anywhere. but if you want to make it really go then check out the acura cl-s swap with the 6 speed.</P>

i was told to put a H-22 motor in it is that a good motor to put in that kind of car, what kind of horsepower does the Cl-s motor put out

If you are really looking to do a mad Honda Accord project, you need to look at not only changing the engine but turning it into rear wheel drive for some real power, there is this motor called the 1jzgte it isnt in America you can find it in Australia but it isnt hard at all to find i have had a buddy do it to his supra, as for making it to a 6 speed manual i would look at the Acura CL-S swap as Slim stated above, it is about the only transmission i have heard to fit, i had a buddy do it to his 2003 Accord. Now this is only a start for speed, that engine can have 1 huge 35lb turbo or a twin turbo put into it, wither way you "sleeper" would def. be wide awake at all times.

how much did that conversion cost

Turbo H22 with a 50 or 75 shot! The auto should be switched to a 5 speed if possible. I don't know if they make shift kits for autos but the domake racetorque converters for autos. </P>

A front to rear wheel conversion would cost more than the car and motor..</P><edited><editID>ntxmotorsports</editID><editDate>38124.8971180556</editDate></edited>

The motor was about 2,500 the shift kit conversion i am not too sure on the price though i can ask my buddy, but i think it is something around the 1,000 to the 1,500. I really think that motor is the way to go on any type of motor swap for power. Stock 280 horses to the wheels man, cant beat it.

hahaha... sweet! I wish we could race after I get my blower! U'd still probably beat me with that stang, but it'd be fun, so if your ever in Europe<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>

</P>

Oh yeah... the topic. RWD conversion? Come-on... U might as well buy an EVO/STI. haha Go withthe Accords stock V6 (my mother-in-law has one... pretty quick) and drop a sick turbo in it! Thats all u need to hang with some of the V8's... or even twin turbo, thats right... I said it, even though its crazy.</P>

na i think he needs to go with the engine swap, keep the FWD if you like but more power in the rear, though with that engine i mentioned on a previous post would be able to handle a twin turbo it is what it is made for, stock 280 hp to the wheels man it is sick. But def worth it in the end, after the turbo ur looking at 500hp i mean u can do some sick sh*t with that engine. But your money..=]

turbo h22 gets my vote. when i was going to UTI there was a kid with a 98 accord 4dr with an h22 under the hood. he would nudge past my mid 13 sec b16 crx. his h22 was stock with minor bolt ons like i/h/e and a rechipped ecu. the h22 doesnt cost much and the swap is almost a direct bolt in from what ive heard.
