West - Smog Check Issue

I'm from Southern Cali and my question is to all the californians....Every other year when you renew your license plate tags, you are required to have a smog testing (for the older vehicles)....If I install headers and exhaust, will that automatically fail my smog testing?

I have an intake that is carb legal. Is there such as thing as legal headers/exhaust?

the headers have to be carb exempt too. but the exhaust, just be sure to have like a silencer on it or something. they won't automatically fail you tho. just talk to them before the test and be sure the engine is warm when they do it.
