Nice forum here!!

I'm new to the import scene and am looking for a decent catback system
for my '98 EX Coupe. At this point it is fully stock, and has a
hole somewhere in the back half of the original exhaust.

I figured I could either get some cheap ass oem replacement pipe or muffler, or get a whole new catback.

Preferably something not to loud, but with some added low end power if possible. also under $400 would be nice.

Thermal (http://www.thermalrd.com/honda.htm target=) makes some good stainless systems. They may be a bit over $400 though.

If your looking for a quality cat back system, somethign that is not loud like a dirt bike you might want to check out GReddy Evo or Evo2 Edition exhaust, it is fully stainless steal fits on stock hanger and gives off good low end power. The price is depending on the car 400 to 600 but ever penny is worth it, for the sound and HP increase. www.GReddy.com

Slim, what's up with the HP Racing cat-back on that site?

For some reason I can't post the link <img src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0"> It's half way down the page:

#001+2852

(Cat-Back Exhaust System - 2/4dr EX - R-SPEC Muffler - POLISHED Stainless Steel)

Kinda slick
lookin muffler. Does anyone know if that's a loud system? I
got kids and a wife and stuff, they would not appreciate a loud system.

Wheelbroker, I don't really care what it looks like. The only thing that matters to me is the sound, and performance. As far as I'm concerned it could be shaped like a banana, but as long as it performs better than stock and doesn't get too loud.

if your going for sound u need to look at the GReddy EVO or EVO2 exhaust it is a low deep sound, another that is low is the flowmaster, though it is a little more high pitch than the GReddy and performance wise is not as great, it is cheaper, and in the end gets the job done. www.Greddy.com or www.flowmaster.com

w00t w00t pacesetter monza cat-back!!!!!!!!! ;) cheap, mellow sounding decent lookin cat back can be had for less than 300 shipped to ur door. now your not going to get gains like say a greddy cat back but it will gain over stock.

Sweet, thanks everyone. Now I've got some good ideas, the pacesetter monza sounds like the system for me. IIRC they are usually black powder coated right? Well whatever, if it's not loud, fairly cheap, and provides better than stock performance I think I am sold.

Does anyone have some sound clips of different exhausts? If I could at least get a clip of the pacesetter monza and the greddy evo/evo2 that would rock.

Send the files to my email. beauc2@comcast.net

Thanks again everyone!!:D
