Any body know if there is an ecu for the hx models and where can i get it?
ECU Tuning & Fuel Management - ecu?View Full Version : ecu? fast97 01-03-2005, 08:33 PM Any body know if there is an ecu for the hx models and where can i get it? XCM828 01-03-2005, 09:24 PM [sm=icon_stickpoke.gif] Uhhhhhhhhh you should already have an ecu. fast97 01-03-2005, 09:38 PM Well i do just want to upgrade stock ecu. My car would do almost 200 mph if it had the power to pull it cause of the trans. At 80 mph i am sittin just under three grand. XCM828 01-03-2005, 09:45 PM Well yeah any car can go 200 mph if it had the power to do it. I highly doubt an ecu upgrade is gona give u that kind of power. Look into Hondata. fast97 01-03-2005, 09:49 PM Tahats not what i am sayin iwnt to find an ecu to make my air fuel ratio a little more rich cause it is lean. not any car can do 200. You are tellin me an ex will do 200 on stock trans. XCM828 01-03-2005, 10:21 PM Like I said, look into Hondata. sacicons 01-03-2005, 10:34 PM if you richen the ecu more than it is now, its not going to give you power. its about balence, not just dumping fuel in. get a head from an ex and do the swap. and youre not going to hit 200 with that trans. the gear ratios may be close to possible(probably not), but progress group(i think) built an si with a built b-series supercharged to compete in the land speed race, and they hit just over like 205. fast97 01-04-2005, 09:06 PM Thanks for the help. I has an upgraded ignition what i want is for it to run at the ideal air fuel ratio. My guage say i am lean fast97 01-04-2005, 11:50 PM I like my D16Y5 head i get about 38 mog on the Highway which is nice. I dont know if you know about the HX but it has 2 cam profile on the intake side. But when you hit 3000 rpm it changes to the other profile to give more power less econmy. It is like a frirst vetc. do you se what iam sayin sacicons 01-05-2005, 12:44 AM yeah, its built around the same idea as the "normal" vtec, but is focused on economy, instead of power. andryuha 01-05-2005, 12:23 PM It's going to take a whole lot more mods than you have now to make your car go 200mph. That's like a top speed of a Diablo. WHy would you want to go that fast anyway? Even if you could make your car go that fast, you will most definately need new suspension and aerodynamic parts to make the car stable at those speeds. XCM828 01-05-2005, 03:58 PM Not to mention that most places don't have 200 mph speed limits. andryuha 01-05-2005, 07:29 PM ORIGINAL: XCM828 Not to mention that most places don't have 200 mph speed limits. Not to mention that most places don't have 200 mph speed limits. good point [sm=smiley32.gif] fast97 01-05-2005, 09:01 PM yes your ar right. My car will never go that fast but if it could it would be prety sweet to say that you have a car that could do it if you want. the thing i want to know is does any body know where i can up grade my ecu to give me a little boost in power. XCM828 01-05-2005, 09:40 PM WWW.HONDATA.COM jeez how many times do i gotta tell you.... fast97 01-05-2005, 09:52 PM They dont list any thing for the D16y sieries motor at all thank for the input though sory did not see that hondata until now. XCM828 01-05-2005, 09:58 PM ah didnt see what engine you had. Here's a list on their site for other ecu's thatll fit on ur car, http://www.hondata.com/vehicles.html. You could find another ecu that hondata has systems compatible with, then swap it in. http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html fast97 01-08-2005, 08:40 PM Well how about this do you think that i can put a EX ecu into my 97 HX without any problems? sacicons 01-08-2005, 09:35 PM it wont run right. the VTEC systems are different, and it will kick the cam over at a higher rpm, READ:slow as hell, no low end power. just so you know, the weak point of your car is not the ecu. you may get a couple of HP out of it, but its not the best place to start. your car has what? 117hp to start with? get it up to about 135, then get into the electronics of it. till then, the gains from the ecu will be minimal. fast97 01-08-2005, 09:44 PM I should be close to 135 hp. I have header, catback exhaust, msd cap coil, msd wires, cold air intake and high flow cat. You think it would run though? Cause like i said it has two cam profiles on the intake side. sacicons 01-08-2005, 09:47 PM yeah, but the changeover is way higher on the ex, so it would choke down between where it is now, and where it will be with the ex computer. fast97 01-08-2005, 09:55 PM Thanks man info was very helpful i think i will get the EX ecu stock from the junk yard and see if it runns any different or better i should say cause i can get it fo like $25.00 just did not want to fry anything. Like i said thanks for the help. |
