I got a stock 98 civic ex engine. can i put a vtec ecu and make it vtec?

What's the engine code? If it's D16Y8 you are in business. And if that's the case you need a P2P ECU, or a modified P28.

it doesnt say vtec anywhere on my car or engine. where do i find the engine code?

the 6th # on my vin is 8 if that helps any. ( i think i was lookin at my vin, it was in the front of the car on the driver side)

I found the code: D16Y8 on the side of the engine. is it vtec? should i swap it?
