does anybody know how to hook up the msd sport compact ignition. i have a 99 civic ex with a d16y8.

I am thinkign of getting a MSD ignition stuff and wires the whole think, how hard is it to do and is it worth it do you get anything out of it besides the name?

It depends on how many mods you have done to your engine. If you got say just like a cold air intake, a header, and a couple other small things, modifying the ignition system will barely make any difference.

you really dont need an aftermarket ignition unless you have a crapload of mods (like way higher than stock compression) or FI. hondas have VERY good stock ignitions (though it is the part that always seems to break)

I have a 2002 LX coupe and I was wondering if a MSD could work on that, someone told me that it could not work because I do not have a distributor. Could someone confirm this, I already have the MSD ignition from my old car, and I do not want to mess up my new car. It is the 6AL

im pretty sure it wont work, though you may be able to find upgrades fro the DIS system, but i doubt your old one would work.

check out the msd website they will give most wiring diagrams ive got one of their boxes &conductor wire set on a 85 gm van &like it ---starts great
