i recently went to a car show and was talking to some people with turbo charged b16's. i own a d16y8 and was thinking about turbo charging it but tha people i was talkin to said i was just better off swapping it for a b16 and going from there, so they gave me a card for a local shop that would swap my d16 for a jdm b16, if i do this whose knows how long it would take for me to save for a turbo. what do u guys think i should do? boost my d16 or swap for a jdm b16?? does any1 have a turbo'd d16, maybe u could gimme some numbers? how much psi ur running how much hp ur hitting and so on ...... thank you

if you are going turbo which i recommend for now you can get your motor up to 200whp which is more than hp than most b16 swaps. and plus you can always put the turbo on the b16 down the road when you get the money and motor swapped into your car... I turboed my d15 andit pulls really well. dont know any numbers yet because im still working on tuning the car which are gonna be really soon. ask pete about his turbo d16 and what he thinks about it...

i found some complete turbo kits on ebay for under 2k ( greddy kits) .... has any1 ever baught off ebay be4 ? i dont kno if i trust it .... especially when i see a header for my engine for only $10....are these really huge deals or just scams ? if i can get a turbo kit for under 2500 then i'm just gonna turbo my d16 and say forget about the b16 swap

ebay is gonna be the best place to find a brand new greddy kit for that much money, thats a really good deal for the kit. pete has the same kit on his d16 and its a really nice kit.... +1 on buying the greddy kit off ebay...

Yeah, i agree with ef4life, much more fun. I have a JDM D15 and am running 5psi on it and its a blast, the SOHC is great for lower end torque over B-series, then when the boost hits, its all over the place. Id go with the turbo over swap personally.

well it depends on what kinda mods are done to the b16, turbo d's are quick a friend of mine has a built d bottem end witha custom set up with a DOHC ZC head on it, its a nice set up that likes to run, but got beat by a stock b16 under 10 psi got it on video, would haev been at least 6 car lenghts if an I/C pipe haddnt blown off.... have it on video will try to post it sometime if i can find it again

i think that he means a stock swapped b16 over turboing a d16 which can be tuned for over 200 hp
turbo Ds rule. You can get a complete turbo kit for about 1K......and have more power than a stock B. So you spend less and get more? Who the hell wants a b16

dollar for dollar a B will be faster in the long run.
now...if we took 5k apiece and you got a turbo and i got a swap, youd probably be faster than me...but barely. after that id probably start pulling on you.
