Hi, guys and gals, I just bought this 98 dx coupe, I press the ac button and I get this noise from the ac fan area like it's hitting somthing but I can turn it manually and no noise, help! also are the front buckets supposed to be so layed back, not comfy, one more thing I put a couple of bags of dogfood in the trunk and I heard the tire rub when i took a corner, how can you tell if it's been lowered, It's got 14 inch tires, thats all for now any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Does the noise start as soon as the ac comes on? Is the car cooling down? You could have a problem with the compressor.

If you want to know it the car was lowered you could take it to a garage and have someone look at it or park it next to a stock civic and check the height. If you have 14's tho, it would be hard to get them to rub unless the car was really dropped.

Your shocks could be worn out also... and the added weight in the trunk could be enough to make it rub. Its not too serious unless it rubs like everyday, thats when its going to eventually wear on your tires. If the gap between the wheelwell and the top of the tire is like 3 inches or more then its stock, but if it looks like its sitting on the tire then its been lowered.

shocks could jsut be shot. replace them and your worries are over. as long as the tire does not rub the whole time the car is movin it sould be ok. it happens everynow and again to the best of us

If your ride is really springy, then you do have a shock problem but shocks rarely affect ride height.

bad springs?

More than likley that would cause the problem (if the car was not lowered). If you put stuff in the trunk and it bottoms out, the springs are weak and need to be replaced.

Could be just to much dog food. ;)

Thanks for all the replies, I'll check the space between the tire and tirewall
I got the ac noise fixed it was a bent ac fan housing hitting the blade. I'll probably have more ? thanks.
