General Civic Talk - audio or exterior

so when i bought my 93 civic, the speakers were toast. i have the worst buyers remorse of all time, which isn't good when you own an import that you want to fix up. i just hate spending money!! but i just kinda made an impulse buy and i spent $160 on some new speakers (polk). i just figured that one day when the car looked pretty good.... i'd be like, oh yeah my car's nice... but im too cheap to replace the freaking speakers. so who starts off with audio, and who starts off with the other stuff (wheels, hoods, paint, etc.)

I started off with audio, simply because the its more important to me... But my car is in really good shape to begin with. The FIRST thing I bought though was a new alarm system and remote starter because I got a sweet deal where I worked
I think you should start on the thing that bothers you the most. When i got my car the height had to change! First thing i did was get it lowered. Audio is important if your gonna use the car alot tho.

i think the car alarm and remote start was the better idea. i wanted to do lots of real nice audio work... nice deck, satellite radio, subs, amps... but i live in the ghetto and that **** would get jacked in a second. so maybe the alarm idea.... yea. that works.

i prefer looks. everyone sees the car but not many people can hear the car unless u got a vert or insane bass. in my younger days i was into the stereo stuff but now i like the sound of the car the music is jsut background niose.
but you must do what u like the most.everyone likes different things.

i got 2 dent in my car dat drove me nuts wen i bought it but u kno what... i got some touch up paint,,, the dents are popped so they aint near perfect but they dont bulge... but audio 4get about it gotta have my music right. i say if u like to listen to ya cds go get yaself a dope pioneer deck, some stock size speaker replacements and spend ya xtra buck and a half or so to get ya self a decent amp and a sub!

I suggest that you make sure your car is in good running shape first. then look to either music or exterior. since you live in the ghetto, you might be interested in keeping that car a bit under the radar. if it looks like you've got nothing in it, then most people would leave it alone. or so the story goes.
first and foremost. make sure it gets you from point a to point b.

the way i go is a FULL mixture...
but looks arent that important.... if body damage thats different... id fix that first. but not upgrades.. but thats just me.
first ALWAYS
1. tune up
2. ALARM system!!!!!!!!!
3.speakers if they are blown.. if not bass ;)
4. minor cosmetics
5. performance.
i always do a mixture of all the goodies... performance (which can also be looks under the hood) CAI and header... audio (my name says it all) then some looks and so on what i think is needed or wanted...
i typicaly go by my $$ flow.LOL sometimes good high $$ and sometimes cheap mods.... the cheap ones do add up and make a difference ;)
just think about what ya want to do and be sure ya like it and just DO IT......
just look at the BIG PICTURE.....
but definatly go with what HAS to be repaired or replaced first for reliability! then a alarm system to protect your investment and your future goodies safe... well not always safe but prevents ALOT of thefts!
