Well I decided to make a review on my intake. Figure this will help answer some questions that are often asked in the i/h/e section. I’ve had my AEM SRI for quite some time now, about 7-9months, cant remember exactly…. so here’s my review.
Product: AEM Short Ram Intake(SRI)
Distributor: www.Cardomain.com
Vehicle: 1992-1995 Honda Civic (all models I believe)
Cost: $79.99 free shipping (I think cardomain has upped the price now. You can get these cheaper on ebay or maybe somewhere else)
Installation: Installing an intake is incredibly easy, especially if it’s a short ram such as this one. Anyone can do this on their own with just simple tools. Tools used: sockets, wrench, and flat head screw driver.
Installation Time: I figure about 20-30mins. Taking the resonator box out will take up most of the time, after that there’s nothing to it.
Review: I love it. Performs well, sounds great, looks nice. After installation I noticed a bit better throttle response and a tad bit more power. One thing that I really noticed and really liked was the sound. It sounds great when getting on the throttle and in-between shifts it gives off a lil hiss kinda sound, my friends always comment about it and say its like a mini blow of valve lol. When idling it hisses and is pretty sweet. Maintenance is simple; don’t need to clean/oil it as often as a cold air intake since it’s kept in the bay and away from dirt, water, salt and all that junk. the package came with all the necessities plus more: tubing, couplings, ties, filter, filter cleaner, stickers, and license plate frame. I really don’t have anything bad to say about the intake itself... other than the color which was cardomains fault[:@] i ordered chrome tubing to match my strut bar but nooo they didnt have it in stock even tho they said they did and without cunsulting me they sent me red tubing[sm=headbang.gif] o well w/e it does its job:D
