i've been looking for a cheap exhaust that doesn't sound ricey. i can't afford greddy, apexi, or anything in that price range. i just looked at the tsudo and those look pretty good. anyone have one? also, how about megan and magnaflow?

I've seen many of those floating around on ebay and was looking at buying one myself. They are a lot cheaper then the Evo, apexi, skunk etc... however I don't know how well they sound or the performance. How much are you looking to spend?

I found this clip for you, up to you if you like the sound or not. Tsudo N1 style Catback (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcCIp_2qSew)

sounds pretty good. do you think the power gains are same as any other exhaust though?

I think power gains are supposed to be somewhere around the 8-15 gain for all types of exhaust in general. But I'm not sure, can we get some confirmation from the peanut gallery? Your going to get a gain, now if its largely noticable or not I cannot say.

Also Megan Racing exhaust are about 100$ more then Tsudo after shipping. And I've heard nothing but good things of MR from people on these boards. I say if you can spring for Megan Racing Drift Spec if not Tsudo is a good 2nd choice for the ammount of funds you wish to spend. I myself am planning on ordering one of these next week when I get paid. BTW are you on your stock piping and muffler at the moment? If you are either of these systems would be a great upgrade IMO.

yea, i'm on stock right now. i'm just afraid i'll regret not getting something expensive like a skunk that might have a better sound and better performance.

I would jump on with Megan Racing. They sound pretty good in my opinion and they look good. All of this and they are steal cheaper then most of the other good brands. Those like greddy and what not I think you are just paying the extra money to buy the name, from what I have read quality is good for both. As for gain from what I read dont expect much from any of them, but it does help a little as well helps for other things too. This is all from reading seeing that I have not experienced more then one thing from any brand since this is my first car to work on. I do read alot though on forums.........read way to much actually.

I've seen clips of Skunk and APEXi N1 they sound pretty much the same as Megan. Evo2 and WSP2 however are less ricer looking and the sound is less agressive and quiet. I think Megan would be a good bet. However if you still can't decide and really want the brand. Megan Drift Spec will run you 345$ if you have an extra 130$ish and are willing to spend it you can easily pick up any of the Skunk, Evo2, WSP2 etc... I don't know why your asking though because you said in the beginning of the thread you didn't have/want to blow a lot of funds on this. I think this is a good in between.

Heres a clip MR Drift Spec, as far as the look its supposed to have a upward anchor look. Which to me I like very much.

i got the tsudo N1 i believe, with 4 1/2 inch tip......if you go with tsudo, try and get the tsudo fireball (itsonly a 3 1/2 inch tip) i like mine and its a bit on the loud side but its deep too. and knowing people with small wherehouses for these things, i only paid $180 total for mine.

i'm ordering this afternoon.

it seems to me that megan is slightly better than tsudo, both in name, value, looks, and sound.

correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the quality hierarchy a little like this? :

Greddy/Apexi/Skunk 2
Magnaflow
Megan
Tsudo
ebay crap

I know it's easy to just go out and buy what you can afford at the present moment. I get like that sometimes too. However, if it's only a paycheck or two away, I would definately hold off and get what you really want. If you end up not happy with an inexpensive option, and then fork out AGAIN for the one you want later... you are spending MORE. Right?

Do it right the first time. It is more cost effective in the long run.

From my experience, Tsudo exhausts are loud and annoying. The one for your car may be different, but the ones I have heard are not ones I would buy personally.

i went on youtube and listen to tsudo vs megan. they both sound pretty low and they aren't obnoxiously loud. anyone here had one of these brand over time? what's your input?

i have had my tsudo for just under a year, still sounds good. with the silencer on, it almost sounds just a deeper stock. without the silencer you can hear when i get on the gas but then it balances out. i'm use to it and like it.

I know you prob already ordered it and the megan and tsudo dont sound bad at all, especially for the price. But i did that with my last car and in the long run wasnt happy with it. with my si i held off and saved for a month and got an HKS Hi-Power exhaust and i have yet to hear a civic that sounds like mine. Really deep all the way to 8000 rpms. in my opinion ive found its worth it to spend the extra dollar for an exhaust system

what was it you didn't like about megan/tsudo?

whenever i got on it, it would get really raspy/high pitched(like most the civics/hondas u hear goin around). It also wasnt the best fitment. But when i got my si, i really wanted a nice deep sounding exhaust. I always used to be against paying that high dollar the the name brands when u can get something else for about half the price but i found when i got my HKS Hi-Power that i was perfect fitment and sounds awesome. Not too loud at all, and really deep all the way to 8000rpms. I just think its worth the wait since ur gonna have to listen to the exhaust everytime u drive.

do you think the high pitched sound was specific for your car or do you think it's just the way the exhaust was made? do you think i could just buy a muffler and have a good sound?

also, anyone have advice on this: should i get an intake or an exhaust first?

if i get the exhaust first, will it sound bad? and visa versa: if i get the intake first, will i get an improved sound?

i would get an exhaust first. if you do an exhaust first, do it the right way. get a good catback and install it yourself to learn more about your car. i have a tsudo on my car and it does get loud on the highways. i am waiting to put my turbo on to see if it quiets the sound down a little bit.

i want to hear the hks on your car hondaimports30

does your tsudo sound low consistently or does it ocassionally give a bad high sound?

dude aryiman, you gotta get like dynamat or brown bread or something else. i just installed some in my trunk and it is a whole hell of alot quieter. i'm going to do the floor and doors in the next couple of days too. its wonderful.

I just bought a Tsudo catback for my 95 DX because the stock exhaust rusted out and fell off. I really can'y say much about the sound because I can't get the catback to fit with the ****ing headers I bought....I have been working on this crap all night, to finally find out that this crap isnt gonna fit...I'll post up a review if I ever figure out how I am gonna make this fit...

EDIT: so yeah, my tsudo exhaust fits like ****. There is about a 2 inch gap between the flange of the exhaust piping and the flange on the cat. It looks like the middle "S" shaped section is bent incorrectly. I guess I am gonna try to have a muffler shop bend the piping to the correct shape. Anyone have any other suggestions?

you sure you put it all together properly? i thought i did when i installed mine, and it was hanging really low and fitment was really tight. but i just flipped the cat and piping upside down (right way up) and everything went right into place. now its snug in the groove of the under body like its suppose to.

Yeah, I am 100% everything was done correctly. I went to the muffler shop today and they said it looked like there needed to be a little bit more piping before the flange that mounts up to the cat and that also it looked like the piping was bent incorrectly. They ended up just cutting the flanges off, and using a section of the extra straight pipe that came with the exhaust to weld it up. I didnt want to spend another $100 bucks on the car and I wanted everything nice and simple, but hey, **** happens. Hopefully the company that sells them is willing to do something about it, as his ebay feedback is like 8800 something with %100 positive feedback, so hopefully he will be willing to bite the bullet for his manufaturer's mistake.
