Hey guys I was talking to a mate about getting power out of my non vtec NA D16Y and he mentioned electric inatke superchargers. I just curious if these things give offer any real benefit when running with my existing CAI. Thanks

Are you talking about those plastic, $50 deals that you can only run for like 30 minutes?

If so, then no

Okay, I have been wondering this for a long time, and I know I am going to get a lot of sh*t for this... but, why is there no "good" electric sc's? I mean, the idea just seems logical to me that there should be a pretty easy way to get some power out of an electric motor that can spin a nice sc (aka not plastic) that could create a nice (maybe small compared to turbo) amount of boost just for those people who are daily drivers that don't want to spend the money/time putting together a large turbo project.. but still want a little bit of power.

Well it hasnt ben done yet, ive seen dyno runs on them and they actualy caused a hp and tq loss. those little electric motors can get pretty hot thus heating up the intake and air, plus not to mention the motor itself restricting air flow.

Well, thats not entirely true, ive seen legit ones, not $50, but like $2000. It uses 2 massive electric motors and hits like 8-9psi, but only for like 30sec bursts. I wish i could remember where i saw it, but i cant. Either way, still waste of money, electric anything is not going to get the results you want, or even be worth the money.
