Autocross and Road Course Racing - few pics from todays autox

raced today, did alright but i kno i coulda shaved like .5-1 sec off my fastest...been a pretty long day, got up at like 6:30am, drove about an hour to the race, raced, worked, drove about an hour back...didnt get back till about 5:30pm....sore as hell from runnin around all day but it was real fun as always. only got pics of some of the cars their, alot of them left before i got these so ya..there were a ton of ppl racing today..sucked cuz i waited like 15 freakin mins inbetween runs...anyways here the pics

damn that sux...i believe this is the last event at that stadium for this region but theres another area near me that holds some races and they have 2 races left:D. but i believe that one isnt affiliated with scca and its a small lot so their courses are only like 40 sec long[:'(]

the last time that i was on an autoX course, it only took about a minute to get through the course, but i was doing in as a part of a media event in a chrysler 300c SRT8...:)

this course avg. was about 50sec and my best was about a 50.3**...fairly decent length course i suppose. another region i race at has a huuge lot and times are usually upwards of 70sec. the last race i went to there the course was a bit over mile long...which i like, i like alot:D

maybe for appearence but def. not out on the course lol. the ones to beat were the '89 civic(pic below) and a '99 impreza 2.5rs. both ran in pro class and are fast...too fast....

i believe their 16's. dosnt even matter really for this guy, hes an amazing driver and extremely hard to beat...last event he beat me by about 9 seconds and this event he beat me by about 5....oh and i just noticed u can see the RS he was competing agenst next to his car(the silver one that says phoenix).

Looks liek a blast man.... i wish they had something like that here[:@][:@]... we have our drag strip, but that is it

word, you know it's some serious sh!t when a "street touring" car gets TRAILERED in. This guy competed at the Northeast Divisionals here this past summer and placed 2nd out of 10 cars in the class

haha ya thats cy...hes everywhere. i talked to him before and he said if its within like a 2-3 hours drive he'll try his best to be there. thats dedication if u ask me, i think the hour drive i gota do is bad as it is...i cant imagine driving to a race for about 2.5 hours, racing, and driving back all in the same day. luckily tho he has a trailer so its not that bad i suppose..maybe next event i see him at ill ask him for a ride:)

Man i totally agree with that. That event looked fun as hell.

woot woot results were just posted...i placed 13th outa 21 in STS which im very satisfied with. some of the best racers were out there because 2 regions were having a lil competition that day. Sam Strano was there, ESP National Champ. for '02, '04, and '06 and owner of Strano Performance Parts...he posted the fasted time of the day with a 41.856 in his camaro. my best run of the day was a clean 50.316...i def. shoulda been in high 49's:( and 1st place for STS went to none other than Cy Lee(the white '89 civic) and his best time was a clean 45.683...he needs to slow down...haha. out of 209 drivers i placed 117..meh..lol

man i cant wait until i can get the money up to be able to get into autoX...

damn, last time i checked it was about $50 to become a member here. burrythespeedo, u dont have to be a member to race, im not a member yet. its usually only about $10 more to race if ur not a member. usually its $35 non-members and $25 for members. no need to wait, just sign up for races...to register for an event near ya, register for free on www.myautoevents.com and look for ur local autox, rallyx, test & tunes, road racing, etc...

w00t w00t just found out that road atlanta is in my region that not to far away from me, might have to check auto-xing out next year

I've earned my membership back in savings... TWICE. Since June. LOL. I'm addicted

ya ill def. be a member atleast by next year...prolly get it as a bday or xmas gift lol. i used to get their sportscar magazine for some odd reason...but no more. not gena become a member just yet because scca held events are done here till winter season starts up in jaurary. there are a couple private club held races left which ill attend but they are kinda small...

i want to go scca so i can get the benies, and i cant do it right now because i need a new job, and thus i have no money...also, i have used the myautoevents before....

ya he has some kinda race springs, sway bar, roll bar, rear tie bar, and front strut bar...handles very well, extremely nimble. hes having some trouble with his head(pinging and tapping...) so hes gena buy a whole new fully P&P head. gena cost him like $2k which originally was gena go to a turbo. but now with the built head, it'll set him up well for when he does get a turbo...before we raced i got him to give me a 3 sec handicap, which was a bad because he only beat me by 1.743sec hahaha. i need new tires and ill def. catch his a$$:D
