Well, they add restriction, so if I had to guess I'd say that they probably nullify the 1-3 hp you got from the exhaust

it won't be anything noticeable

think about it this way, would you rather get 1-3 hp or loose 1-3 hp/ so every little bit counts . say your sitting at 197 hp dont u jsut wish u had theat extra 3hp so u could say your at 200

if u want just comfy daily driving then throw it on, the power loss will prolly be hardly noticable. it'll prolly be all in ur head since the exhaust wont be as loud...just take it off when u hit the track to squeeze out ever hp.

some silencers do their job and quiet the exhaust down but consequently, they might also change the tone to something you might not like

what brand exhaust do you have? the company usually sells the corresponding silencer for ~$40-$60

OUCH! I sold my Megan Racing one to a buddy for pretty what it cost to ship. DIdn't realize they were that pricey. But, I didn't need and he REALLY did, so I'm glad I could help him out

A properly designed exhaust will not need one and it will still flow just as good.
