I jus recently got 18s for my Civic (2003 Civic EX Coupe), but I am wondering if that size was a good choice... I hav seen many people wit 18s on their Civic, but I kno they hav had flat tires more than once... But at tha end of tha day, I felt 18s were the maximum on a Civic that would make your car still driveable.. What do u think, 17s or 18s?

Also - if anyone could answer this, I'd appreciate it - It is recommended that I get 215/40-18 for my 18s, but I want a bigg'r low profile tire... What other dimension(s) can I shop for?

16's FTW, you can get away with 17's on a seventh gen, but you're sacrificing ride quality.

18+'s are just stupid

Get 16's so you can run a 205 45 16 tire..........the 40s r too thin and with 18s u have a 35 tire, and its like riding on wood wheels.

17's can look good on 7thgens, but id say 16's or even 15's look the best.

i guess its unanimous!... 18s are too OD (overdose) for a civic, unless i "drive slow homie"....

Id say 18's are more for show than stupidity . Sure they suck as a daily driver but thats the owners choice.
You can rock 18's on a 7th gen with a nice drop and have it look sick.

BIG QUESTION - where can i find decent priced tires? i hav 18s, so i guess my preferred dimensions are 215/40-18

there sure is, downgrad to 16's:D lol. it's your car man, but if you want performance/looks then i would stick with 16's and at the VERY most 17's

Yeah let me rephrase that, 16's for performance, 17" for looks/performance, 18" for looks, with a nice drop and a wheel tuck i agree, they can look sick

+ infinity for tirerack.com That was the best website ive ever dealt with

Even with 17"s the ride suffers horribly, but dude, 15"s if your one of the JDM heads :D

^ i agree
yup, with 17s every time you go over a pothole it makes a loud BAM noise and it's bumpy instead of soft and cushiony

pretty much agreeing with everyone, 17 should be as big as you go on a civic, but I think 16s are the best. some people say 15s, but ive found that you cant get very many good tires in performance sizes in 15s. the widest you can get is usually 205, and almost no one carries 15s in anything shorter than a 50 sidewall, and thats pretty big for a 205 tire.

oh, and for the 18s, I would get 215/35/18 because it will give you a little more room inside the wheel well so they dont rub as much when you turn.

i have 17's on my car, and my car looks great and performs well. So get 17s, 18s is doing it way too much.
