I found an engine in a junkyard (still in the car) with i think i d16z6 or 8, i'm going back to look at it today. anyways i have a d15b7 is it possible to do a straighforward motor swap no ecu, unless it's a v-tec, wiring or anything. i mean leave everything, the radiator, all that stuff, is this possible, what do you think about the price, i'll take pics too.

Thanks!

ok, i went there, but the guy didn't let me take pictures, the number stamped on the block says ZC. sorry i was so far off, i was looking at a couple of civics and couldn't remeber. I've never heard of it is it any good? it also says vtec on the valve cover. so i'll probably need the ecu and wiring for it huh? the guy wants 400 fo the motor, he's going to se if it runs this week. i'm at work i'll get back to you guys later!!

no, 400 is a bit steep for a junkyard sohc ZC. a buddy of mine got a running LS motor for that much. i wouldnt bother.

is a zc vtech any good? What kind of power can it do stock? What kind is it, ie: d16y8, b18a1,d15b7. I'll haggle him with the price, I work at an atv/dirt/street/watercraft dealer. how about ecu and wiring, could anyone tell me exactly what I would need if I were to do it? I don't really want to have to mess with electronics, too much, unless it' just a basic swap on parts,i'm hoping that i can do it myself, i go to an auto shop at a high school. They are pretty well equipped, i've done valve adjustments, and alingments, and a lot of other stuff there. I don't think dropping in an engine and hooking up some electronics. please answer all of my Q's if possible, I'm really interested in another engine, and now I've found one, but never heard of it, Please respond to all of them. Thanks a lot!!!

dont bother with it. its not vtec, its not extra special, and its the wrong gen for your car. stick with newer motors.

im not much of an expert on ZCs, but ive never seen one from post-92 cars. i might be wrong, but i couldnt find anything on it with a quick search either.

yeah is it a dohc zc or a sohc??? 400 is really high for a junkyard zc, especially not knowing if it runs or not
