how much is the fastest you guys had your car up to?

i had mine up to 130 vs a 85 rx7

stock y8 no turbo
intake and exhaust only

havnt had a chance to, bad thing to test in winter weather

115 mph..................sounds childish but for a four speed that rocks

About 140 in the Civic, 165 in the S14, and I didn't get to drive the DSM that much.

well, with the dx motor, it cut off at 118, though going downhill once, i bounced it over 121. i havent had a chance to try it with the b16 or the gsr, but i did go over 135 in our old '00 SI. then we pulled away from the other car and slowed down. that was back in the day, before we got "The Ticket."

I've only took mine up to 110 (BMW). I'm sure it can go faster than that, but the roads were wet, and I didn't want to push it. around 100 in a VW, and 115 in corolla

130 in my civ after the swap, but i went 145 in my dads g35.

when you are doing that kind of speed you can't tell untill you look down at the guages. you know you are going pretty fast cuz you are passing cars like they are goin in the opposite direction. the only reason i did look down was because i was wide open in 5th gear and wasn't getting anything more out of it. i shifted to 6th and i think i lost like 5 mph's. ain't that a bitch. i'm actually looking for a 954 frame so i could build a stunt bike.

been 128 mph in my civic...and that was going downhill. Tried it going uphill...No power =(. Couldn't even hit 115....haha!

honestly, it depends on the car. in the civ, id say i'd be comfortable (assuming its built up well enough) at about 160-170. on a bike, a lot less than that[&:] in a bigger car like a skyline, id go over 200. but id never do that on an open road.

id want to take a mclaren or skyline on the autobahn thad be fun no speed limit there:D

I would go as fast as the governor ship allows me - it's around 140mph on my car. I've heard that it could get pretty drifty at those speeds on stock suspension

I did 125 in a Lumina, that's where the gov capped it. The cap on the Cavvie was 115 :(

I was just thinking, but wouldn't there be so much drag and wind resistance at 110MPH AND doing a wheelie that you would, uh, flip, loose control,something horrible. THAT'S FREAKING INSANE!!! Do you realize that you are moving at 110MPH on ONE, 1, Uno, WHEEL! I have trouble doing a 3mph wheelie on my bicycle! Your more than crazy, you need to be, I don't even KNOW!! Those speeds are already mind blowing, PLUS it's on two wheels PLUS you got it down to ONE wheel!!!!!! I'm just soooo[sm=smiley5.gif] AND [sm=hail.gif] at the same time!!!

yeah that's what makes it for those who know what they are doing. mind you i can get 75 out of 1st gear on my 99 RR before redline and i have 5 more gears left so you do the math. :D

Last time i recall i did about 115HP vs a 00 Civic SI we both stopped at the same time
due to highway traffic but it was a real rush!

ive had my 87 crx si with a boosted and built b18c1 up to 176 and my supercharged mach 1 up to 188. and on 2 wheels ive been 215 on a supercharged gxsr1000

thats the only kind of riding that ill do. it pushing somewhere in the 220 hp range. but at 215 you dont jerk the throttle. its like a drug

lmao. Here is a frickin scary story that happened to me a few days ago. I take a kid to school every day like a car pool and we get on the freeway for a few exits and I just gun it up to 120. Then a cop pulls up behind me and turns on this lil red light but the driver side mirror thing. I wet my fricking pants. He pulled me over and I swear to God he let me off with a warning. How many times does that happen. He was like " YOu really kicked it on the on ramp, i got youa t 85 mph. He was smiling and I felt like kissing him. Then he jsut let me off witha warning. I told a kid in my class and described how the light thing was and he said that the guy was prolly jsut a pr guy and writing tickets was something he doesn't really do. Anyways he took down my liscence number and that was it. I ahven't sped since.

well, i've beaten my old record of 105 and did 110 now, i've got it on camera and i've just got to up load it to my pc. i'm in the middle of moving so averything is about to get packed up. and if that wasn't bad enough, we're going on a cruise like three days after. we move in.AAAAHHHHHHH this is going to suck. i'll post that vid when i get a chance!

The '05 VP topped out at 108 and wouldn't go past that for some reason...maybe I didn't have the gas floored, but that seemed to be all it could do. Nice suspension though, unlike the Cavvie it wasn't shaking or anything.

are the speed limiters built in to the ECU or are they mechanical. either way, can you remove them?

its programmed into the ecu, and you can get a new chip without them.

try going off road in a class 2 pro truck at 130, and then a trophy truck and his helicoptor support team pass you like nothin, i thought i was goin fast, remember this is no pavement, mexico roads, that a stock car/truck would have difficulty doin 30 or 40, that is trully a rush

I remeber I was having some fun going from stoplight to stoplight with my Cobra GT and winding her out as much as I could. Figured I had her up over 80mph before I noticed a green Impala coming up fast. Just as a light changed to red. Stopped and waited for the green and had her almost sideways when the Impala Suit pulls out a red light and starts waving at me. I stopped at the next red and he starts yelling at me to slow down and I was lucky he was on a call or he'd have bust my @SS....lol

my civic I've had up to 115 but the fastest I've ever driven any of my cars was my cavalier against a BMW ???i I got up to around 143mph, and no my cavalier was no where near stock, it was a 97 Z24 punch out 20 over with built head and some other goodies. I've been a passenger in a z06 hitting 165 on the street, scary when your a passenger

it is a tach and i dont understand either cuz i know aftermarket tachs are more true then factory tachs because the tach wire is tied directly to the distributor or coil pack but the biggest difference I've ever seen was a 275 RPM difference not a 1000 RPM and that motor will be bouncing of rev limiter if its tached out like that

Many hours in court and a few fines but never lost my license (i got good lawyers). All together there were 13 counts,two felonies one misdomeanor and the others were just traffic violations but they dropped the felonies. Would have been 17 points on my license.

You shoulda told them you had a party that night and a bunch of different people took the car out on several occasions that night. No way to tell who was driving. I know someone who did that once. You have the right to confront witnesses and the car was going that bust but who saw the driver?

A pyrometer tells you your egshaust gas temps. It is mainly used for tuning and can be watched to see if the engine leans out.

95mph on country backroads in the van I used to drive. 120mph in the Grand Marquis. ~110 in my civic.

i've never hit one in my friends 04 civic ex, i've had it up to 127

well in my dx with the pooh 1.5 non-vtec havin ass motor i did 108 with a tail wind for a full mile and couldnt eek a single extra mph out of it. we'll see what happens with the new motor, i bought an ecu that eliminates the governor, so i'll be good for whatever 5th gear is capable of. cant wait.

i used to have a 1986 vw jetta automatic, i did 124. that was kinda scary cause the car felt like it was floating, the girl that was riding with me wanted me to go faster. i slowed it down.

I hit the rev limiter at 132 in 4th gear in my Altima on I-85, so what do you do, shift into 5th. Got it up to 147 before I backed off. I didn't need to go to jail that night, Gwinnett County was not going to get me. Needless to say, at 147 in a 4 door sedan made to top out at 100, the car was shaking uncontrollably, so the thrill of going 147 was taken away from me by the fear of blowing a tire and hitting the wall like I was in Nascar. Good thing is, my passenger had a chance to take pics.

i did 150 km/hr in my old 83 honda civic. And about 110 Km/hr in my 81 toyota 4x4 pickup. I haven't tried with my jeep grand cherokee yet. I just got new tires so i'll try it soon.

i drove 48 miles in 21 minutes once, mostly downhill in a ford taurus (which is the biggest POS car ever made, btw). the speedo pegged out at 85, but to accomplish that, i had to have hit 130 for most of the way. i passed a guy who claimed to be doing 125 when i passed him. this was in wyoming, btw.

i have had a full size econoline van to 110, and i did 58 on a 10-speed with a little assistance.

my civ has only hit 85 with me as the pilot, but i've only owned it for a month.
