This is a GREAT commuter car, getting 35mpg+. Has had a recent oil change, and new driver side CV shaft. The boot split, so I replaced the whole shaft figuring there was probably junk in the joint as well. Now running syntec in the transaxle. I run this car every day to/from work, a hour commute each way. Runs great, with 144K miles on the odometer. Will easily run another 100k. Clutch is strong, and no slipping. Brakes grab good, alot of meat on the pads when I checked them doing the CV shaft. Nice AM/FM/Cass head unit. The interior is in excellent shape, with no rips/tears/etc. This could also easily be used for a tuner car, already has the 1.6 Si motor. Very nice looking rims, with low profile dunlops that only have about 3K miles on them. Also have a set of steel rims with decent tires on them. The body is not perfect, has a couple of scratches and dimples. There's a rust spot just in front of the rear passenger side tire, normal for these cars. Couple of primer spots on the driver side. Hey, it's a 1991 $1500 car. Nice pait job and some tuner parts, and your kid could be THE kid on the block. Or, do like I am, and run it as a commuter car that's a blast to drive. Power sunroof, with air dam, is fully functional and doesn't leak!
The only thing the car needs is an exhaust, for the asking price of $1500 I'll have this replaced for you before you take it home. I still have tags on the car, so you can take it for a drive down the road. Why am I selling? Well, I was just given a smoking deal on another car that my kid will like for his first car. He hates hatchbacks, don't ask me I haven't the foggiest.
