View Full Version : HID Group Buy -- CLOSED

I am pleased to announce the start of a very special Group Buy for HID kits.
This is a Name-Brand kit, TechOne, and comes with a two year warranty on the ballasts
and a 2500-hour usage rating on the bulbs.
The 35W kit is completely Plug and Play and comes with everything pictured below.

The price: $175.00 shipped, to your door. (Shipping includes the continental U.S. If you are in
Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or anywhere else outside the continental U.S., I will need your Zip
or Postal Code to add on the correct amount).

Bulb Type choices: H1, H3, H4, H4 H/L, H7 thru H13, 9004, 9004 H/L, 9005-9007, 9007 H/L
Color Choices: 4000k -12000k

Da Rules:

This Group Buy will end at Midnight, Eastern Time, on Sunday, January 21st (00:00 Monday).
At that time, all money will be collected. Once everyone has paid, the order will be placed with TechOne. The manufacturing process takes approximately 7-10 days, and the kits will be air-shipped to my warehouse. As soon as I have them in my hands, I will send them out.
You will have your kit within @ three weeks of the day the kits are ordered.

The minimum order to make this Group Buy happen is 12. If we make 20 orders, I will knock
off an additional $5.00 per kit. If we do not get to 12, I will reserve the option to close the Group
Buy. I would do this before I begin to collect any payments.

If anyone is wary of this process, I can assure you, I've done many Group Buys in the past. I buy directly from TechOne (and other manufacturers) and arrange the import of the kits myself...there is no middle-man, no drop-ship warehouse. The savings benefits are passed directly on to you.

Payment can be via paypal, Credit Card, or Money Order. I will post all payment information at the
close of the Group Buy.

I can vouch for these kits, fast shipping too:), only issue i had when installing was finding a mounting location. The instructions could be more helpful but honestly, just throw them away lol. Havent gotten the highbeams to work yet, but i think it has something to do with my DRL's and them being the law in canada on most vehicles.

But the kits are cheep and great:D:D

i have had BAD experience about HID's ballast...my friends got HID on ebay, but his ballasts continuously go out. he shipped the defective back, and got new one in about 2 weeks...yet, the other ballast goes out...he had to send it back again...man, i wonder how long do ballasts can last

i see that you have TWO years warrantee on those TechOne..THUMBS UP!!!
What will happen if one of my ballast goes out. How long do you take to replace it? Oh, my buddy end up paying near 250 for HID..[:@]

Fiirkan
01-02-2007, 04:58 PM
^ poly the kit your friend got must have been a real cheep quality one, cause the ballasts are supposed to last for something like three times longer then halogen bulbs

Well I will tell you that for sure, the weakest part of the kit is the ballast. A lot of people abuse them, because they think the HIDs will light up immy just like a Halogen bulb. If you turn the switch off and on in rapid succession that is the worst thing you can do and it WILL burn out the ballast. If you are careful
the ballast should last forever. The cheapo e-bay kits are just not built to withstand as much abuse as a
better quality kit.
And I always have extra ballasts around, just in case.

Gary you should point out that the H4 Hi/Low has the Highbeam as Halogen, so there isn't further confusion with that.

addiction2bass
01-02-2007, 06:50 PM
cause it just is....LOL
if you wanted a dual HID your gonna have to pay twice as much for TWO HID kits....

or you can just buy some projectors and buy 2 HID kits for them one for high beam and one for lowbeam....
but if ya got HIDs ya shouldnt need your high beams anymore ;) i know i dont!

if anything i want to buy some OEM foglights along with a HID kit for them which should be all i need!

how weahter and water proof are your hid ballast? will they withstand the elements and being submerged in mud and water?

i will be pretty rough on them as you can see

you don't need two hid kits, you need a BiXenon kit which has two HID ballasts instead of one and is about twice a expensive, the HID Hi/Low only has one HID ballast and one Halogen Ballast

h4 is what i need right??? some help would be great here. and come on people lets get 12 together on these so we can take advantage of the deal!

Let me clear up some confusion. The standard H4 Hi/Lo kit that I am selling for $175 is Xenon low,
Halogen high.
The BiXenon kit is more expensive and both bulbs are HID. If anyone wants a BiXenon kit, I can get them to you for $245 shipped.
In either case, tehre is only one ballast per side.

The post-GB price for BiXenons will be no less than $255 plus shipping.
And I will have a limited stock of them, so I can't guarantee I'll have the bulb rating you want.

You should have an H4 also and yes, it would include a High-Beam.
There is no yellow available. If you wanted a yellowish tint you could get a 5000k bulb and put a Rockblocker tint on your enclosure. Check out the pic for the coling by kelvin rating.

I'd be interested in BiXenon's, I've got a 98 DX, which takes 9003 bulbs I believe (H4 equivalent?) 6000K preferably

Or if you're not able to get those, the standard Hi/Low kit in 6000K

if i cannt get the dual HIDs H4s then id like the 6Ks for the fog lights for a 99 civic

$390?? Ouch!
Lowest k rating available from me is 4000, but I still think you are better off getting a 5000 or so and tinting it. Even 4000 is hella bright and will piss off other drivers.
Anyway, please don't post links to other vendors and sales here, even if they are higher than me!

I use mine when appropriate... like when driving down some dark, deserted road....

not constantly like most people down here seem to do... i swear i see people driving with them on at dusk, dawn, and sometimes, during the day

nope only when necessairy, when other people are not on the road, and i am on a dark area of the road. or when i can't see sections of the road. i use them all the time. Cause here and in areas that i drive there can be 100km(~60miles) stretchs of road that have no street lights.

I am really amazed that we haven't made the number yet. Considering the number of views and the number
of people logged onto this site at any given time.

I have Projector headlights on my 98 Civic coupe. They use the small H1's........................
i was wondering if the HID's will fit the projectors, or will i have to remove them and re-install
my stock headlights (which use #9003, i think their H4's).

im planning to get a friend a pair of HIDs. he has a 94 civic. he may want to put it into projectors. so, i was planning to get h1's 9003 (I believe stock is h3 9003. plz correct me if im wrong). would the h1's fit in his stock housing? also, it was talked about a little bit, but im still a little confused. if i get a pair of h1 bulbs hid kit with the low beam hid and high beam halogen, will it simply be plug and play into the projector housing? if not, how exactly do you do it? ive heard you have to split the application or something.

Only the H4 (9004) has a Hi/Lo. The others are all single bulbs.

Well, guys, I hate to do this but I'm shutting this down.
We tried, but I think too many people are going after the crappy e-bay kits. There are so many
manufacturers of HIDs these days, and dropping prices that everyone seems to want in on it.
I think it'll be several months before the market starts to bottom out.

I do appreciate those of you who did support this Group Buy. Maybe we'll have better luck next one.

I haven't decided yet. I have until I run out of stock to think about it.
Honestly I am more comfortable selling performance parts. But a year ago,
everyone just HAD to have HIDs at like, $275.00 + per kit.
My first Group Buy had people swarming like sharks at a feeding frenzy because
I was selling them for $225.00. Now I can't give them away.

Fiirkan
01-30-2007, 06:54 PM
ok well when i am looking fo one i will PM ya. it was worth a try for you to do this again i suppose, but like you said the prices for these are dropping pretty fast for them
