Hi, I just got a 2001 Honda Civic LX with 20,000 miles on her. I want to replace the stock 14” wheels with a nice alloy wheel. I found the 17” Konig Helium bronze (Ultra Light Weight Wheel) and my question is does any one know what the stock steel wheels weight? I have seen on other forums where people have complained of their new wheels weighting more and slowing the cars acceleration. The 17” Konigs weight 16.2 lbs. Thanks!
The stock wheels weight less.....
Almost all aftermarket 17's weight more.

general rule of thumb... the size of the wheel usually equals a good weight for it... so a 17" wheel weighing 17 lbs. is good. Its hard to find 17's that weigh the same as 14's. Thats why some wheels u see are ungodly expensive... because they are light weight.

Thanks. Now I will just have to figure out if I want the form or the function. I guess you would have a noticeable difference if you had 3 extra pounds on each wheel.
Konig also makes a Helium 15 x 6.5 Bronze that only weights 10.8 lbs! Maybe I should go that way.
Thanks again,
Jeff

Discount Tires $111.00 each. That is a great price compared to Konigs suggested MSRP of $148.15 ...

no way guys. stock wheels are made of steel. they are WAY heavier than heliums.im not sure, but ive heard the stock 14s weigh in the area of high 20s. steelies suck. though id still go with 15s or 16s.

how many times are you going to ask this question? the heavier the wheel the worse your 0-60 will get. Its not huge, but a bit noticable.
