Default turbo question

hey I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of engine rebuild and what parts to upgrade to run a turbo at higher psi.

What kind of PSI are you talking about? How much HP do you want? If you want a good answer we need a good question!

what amount of hp is possible on stock tranny and other parts besides the engine

Depends on the engine. For a D16, your only real limiting factor are the connecting rods,perhaps the pistons, clutch and axles, and the open differential imo (but that's more for speed than reliability issues). Most will say between 200-250 for the stock rods. For the pistons, some might disagree but I think if properly toleranced they should hold well over 300. An increasing popular piston to use is Suzuki Vitara pistons, which are being pushed to 400-450 np. Clutch an axles, just go ahead and get what's appropriate for your power level.For the differential, you'll get much better traction with an LSD than with an open diff, and the difference only increases as power increases.

:edit: And the sky's the limit with forged, just about.
