Well I met my first douche bag cop of 2007 last week. Pulled me over at 11:30pm for tint and exhaust. To be honest i was going in 25mph in 3rd of a 92 CX, and we all know how those trannys are geared. So keep your head low and windows down (if you have tint) when you go through Lake Placid, New York.

how dark was your tint, and how did he see it? couldnt you roll your windows down as he was pulling you over?

20%....i never saw him until the lights were on behind me and he strictly went to my window and said

cop: "Do you know why im pulling you over?"
me: "No sir, i know i wasnt speeding."
cop: Ok. Well your exhaust is kinda loud and your tint is too dark, i'm going to have to give you a ticket for both"

Upstate New York. As far is exhaust is, every cop taht has pulled me over says it illegal to mod it at all, but i doubt that is true. Because this is the first ticket i have gotten for it. And i know they just changed the Tint law in 07 to like 35% i think...dont quote me

Where I live if it's a coupe you have to have no less than 70 on the front side windows, anything you want on the back side windows and no less than 20 on the back window... nothing allowed on the front except for I think like 5 inches of vinyl on the top of the windshield.

That sucks though, you know that cop was just bored. Like the cop who pulled me over because my "license plate light was out" and then searched my car. I got home and realized that my light WASN'T out.

Yea, I think its rediculous to pull someone over for just loud exhaust or tint...I could see if I was speeding or driving recklessly and reduce it to one of those, but strictly loud exhaust or tint is stupid and a jacka** cop IMO

Are you gonna take it to court? If he gave you a ticket for your exhaust then I would take it in front of a judge and make them prove that it was too loud. They can't just go by it "sounding too loud" or your tint "looking too dark" They have decibel meters and tint meters for a reason. Next time make him pull them out before he writes you a ticket.

I hate cops that are just out trying to make a name for them selves. It's one thing to pull some one over when they are doing something wrong buts, it something complete different to do it just b/c you bored and have nothing better to do

damn thats not good dood...can you take it to court?

Dam tint laws, over here is really chill, i dont no anyone whos been pulled over for tint..

Technically any modified exhaust can be ticketed for being too loud, they need no proof. I drove around for a month with my exhaust ending at my oil pan, loud as **** and then I finally got my new exhaust on. Had it on for one week and was pulled over by 3 cops (imagine a two lane highway and all of a sudden there's 3 sets of lights behind you). Why? Wasn't speeding, registration in hand... but they gave me a fix it ticket for my exhaust being too loud. 3 cops for that? Bored much?

As for tint, the state might have "accepted" tints but in all actuality most states any tint that's not coming from the manufacturer is illegal.

when a cop pulls you over and tells you that you have a light out, ask him if you can get out and look at it, i was pulled over once driving my old pickup and the cop gave that as an excuse prior to wanting to search my vehicle, and I asked to get out and check it because the connection might be loose or have gotten wet, and sure enough, all of my lights were on, brakes and all...

needless to say, I got back in my car and drove off without a search etc

no one cares about exhaust or tint here in zanesville ohio. no ones exhaust is OEM, neither are their windows...well, cept me cuz im lazy. my friend is a member of some accord forums, and a guy their was pulled over for somthing dumb, and another cop was like "is his car modified?" and the first was like "yes" cop 2 then says "eh, get him for loud exhasut too" and the guys exhaust was completley stock. he went to court for it though, and he won. lol:D douche bag

Ive been pulled over a few times for my tint. The cop gave me "fix it" tickets. Screw you po-po

Damn that sucks man. I've been pulled over 3 times but never got a ticket. I've been pulled over the first time for my license plate neon was on while driving. Second I had both my plate and myundercarriage neon on while driving. The last time was for my 5% tint, the cop didn't give me a ticket but told me to peel it off when I got home and if he sees me again with it he will give me a citation. Well I didn't peel it off and I haven't seen that cop for like a month so jokes on him. :D

same s h i t happen to me got pulled over for license plate light was out, cop came up to my car (hx ricer lol) told me my car logo on the bottom of my wind shield was illigal, muffler was illigal, and cracked tail light, $72 a piece, and he let me go, i went to the Mac D's and pilled my logo, and the dam n tag light was on, i was really pissed, but i didnt get a ticket so......

I asked the cop if they were fix it tickets and he said no because it would have to be done in 24 hours and he said it was impossible. I told him it wasnt impossible because i have an oem exhaust at home and tint isnt hard to peel off, and he just handed me the tickets and left without saying anything. Bastard

i would have fought that, around here its 30 days.....and i doubt yours is much different^
