I am getting a 2007 civic LX I really don't know what to get, the two or the four door. The two door wins in looks, the four is probably easier to deal with. What are your suggestions and why? Thanks alot

The two door wins in looks, the four is probably easier to deal with. What are your suggestions and why? Thanks alot project5k 02-18-2007, 10:20 AM my first question would be is there any diff in the engines, gearing, and weights... i would think that a 4 door would be heaver, and thus might not be as fast as the2 door... just a thought from a nooob.... rcasey 02-18-2007, 10:22 AM nope everything is the same, except for the doors. The four door is slightly larger on the inside then the two door. project5k 02-18-2007, 10:26 AM are the wheelbases the same? a longer wheelbase generally rides a little nicer...but normally takes more space to turn... other than that, its ur call, i prefer the look of 2 doors, but thats just personal preference.... rcasey 02-18-2007, 10:31 AM everything is exactly the same including the wheel base. The 2 door is slightly shorter than the 4 door. I prefer the look of the 2 door but I don't know if the looks are better than capabilities rhdekhatch 02-18-2007, 10:49 AM i prefer 2 door the 4 door is heavier. hence why i have a hatch.lol but it also depends on what you like. everyone likes something different. WhiteRabbit1021 02-18-2007, 10:57 AM Unless you're turning it into a straight drag car, the only thing your decision comes down to is looks. You'll get used to only having two doors and a small back seat... Unless you have a kid who needs to be in a carseat or something like that. rhdekhatch 02-18-2007, 10:58 AM thats true i have to kids and i just fit them in the back seat but i also have another car so it really doesnt matter. aryiman98civic 02-18-2007, 12:46 PM ya i would ask if you have a family and if this is going to be a family car or not. if it is going to be a family car go with the four door, if not then go with the 2 door. maybe look into a SI if you want a 2 door. rhdekhatch 02-18-2007, 01:51 PM but they also have the new SI 4 door. rcasey 02-18-2007, 05:06 PM I'm 17, it's going to be my car. You know just a car but I will be bringing friends around and stuff. I definately like the looks of the 2door but I think I am leaning towards the 4 door just because its lot easier to get in and out of the back and it has a litle more space than the 2 door natecivic92 02-18-2007, 05:31 PM The four door is longer cause I ordered a body kit and the side skirts on the 2 door are shorter.I made the same mistake and had to send them back.I myself have a four door and if you want to ride oem and not race and have a nice car sure the four door. But in the import street racing seen I think the four door is frowned on I have a 92 civic dx 4door and it ways 3,300 pounds on the sticker in the door jam.I myself want to go to one of the 500dollar impound things a get a 5th gen(92-95)civic hatch. Stumasters 02-18-2007, 06:19 PM I really like the 4 doors when modded, more so then the 2's, but the 2 is a nice ride. I don't carry more then 1 other person with me much, and if I do, its a child or someone short to sit in the back, but if I was one of those who loved to drive everywhere with all of my friends, i probably would have gone for the 4. 4's look better with spoilers too, not gay wings, spoilers. I guess its all up to your lifestyle really. civicblend97 02-18-2007, 06:58 PM id say the 2dr cause it looks better and makes it easyer to get out cause the doors are longer, but i am about 6 ft 7, it may not make a difference to u. i have a 97 4dr and sometimes wish it was 2 cbaber 02-18-2007, 07:09 PM 4 doors are heavier. 2 doors look better. 2 doors are better at everything. Get the 2 door. AaaronF 02-18-2007, 10:31 PM i have a 4 door, and though i have never owned a 2 door, i love it. i don't like how people bash the 4 doors. The 4 door just means yuou have more room for the ladies...;) johnny 02-19-2007, 08:18 AM Two door ftw Marty 02-19-2007, 08:28 AM I hate the new coupe tail lights and think the 4 door in general looks better. I'd get the sedan and if you can swing it a SI sedan. Washingtonian95si 02-19-2007, 10:56 AM 2 door all the way... as long as you dont fill the car up with garbage then youll get better fuel economy than the 4 dr. and gas SUCKS! so please dont give terrorists... as much $. and the ugly chicks in the back deserve to work to get into the car hehe. cmfmets 02-19-2007, 11:31 AM My first car was a 95 civic dx 4 door, it was ok but last March when my Subaru died, I bought a '00 EX coupe. I am a pretty tall guy so the 2 door is nice because the doors are bigger and its easier to get in and out of plus with the sunroof, there is more headroom lol. Granted the EX has a good deal more power than my first Civic had, but I would pick the 2 door anyday because it is lighter and I think it handles a lot better, even with the stock suspension. Plus I'm a college student and rarely have other ppl in the car with me so not having rear doors is not a problem. If friends want to go somewhere and they dont want to get in the back, they can drive lol. R35P3KT 02-19-2007, 03:31 PM i love my 4 door.......never had a 2 door before, so i cant compare, but i tohught id let u kno lol devney 02-19-2007, 03:43 PM 4 door for the family, 2 door for the style...simple as that. cbaber 02-19-2007, 03:54 PM ORIGINAL: natecivic92 The four door is longer cause I ordered a body kit and the side skirts on the 2 door are shorter.I made the same mistake and had to send them back.I myself have a four door and if you want to ride oem and not race and have a nice car sure the four door. But in the import street racing seen I think the four door is frowned on I have a 92 civic dx 4door and it ways 3,300 pounds on the sticker in the door jam.I myself want to go to one of the 500dollar impound things a get a 5th gen(92-95)civic hatch. I dont think your car weighs 3,300 pounds dude... A 2-door EG civic weighs about 2100 pounds. Adding 2 doors and a little length isnt going to add 1000 pounds. civicblend97 02-19-2007, 04:13 PM my 974dr is around 2400 lbs the sticker tell u the max weight of the car+ all passengers+cargo should not excede 3300 lbs thats not the weight of the car, my 97 door sticker says 3300 gvwr and my 89 hatch says 3085 gvwr... gvwr= gross vehical weight rating |
