General Tech Help - problem starting during hot weather

Does anybody encountered this problem?
I can not start my honda civic (1993 lx) when it is hot during the day but no problem starting during the night when temperature cools down?

i used to have that problem when i my distributor cap was messed up. also, try no to let your car get low thean 1/4 tank on the gas.

How long has it been since you've changed the battery?

I have the same problem and after a lot of fooling around have concluded that the Main Relay is most likely the problem. When you turn the key, the fuel pump and injectors receive power for two seconds (while the yellow light is on) at which point if the engine has not yet started control over those two functions (among many others) is assumed by the Main Relay.

A bad soldier connection may leave the Main Relay unable to power the pump and injectors. No power, no fuel--no fuel, no go--especially since the injectors themselves must be powered to function. Even if the fuel lines were pressurized, the injectors will not deliver fuel if the injection system is not powered.

Why don't you have a problem when the car is cool? Because it almost always starts within the first two seconds the first time you try it, and when not it always does the second time.

So I bought a new Main Relay and now I cannot figure out where to put it!

Yea, I would think this is the main relay. I have been quite heavily involved with Honda CRX's (88-92 model) and this is a common fault with them. Apparently they are real easy to change and I think in the CRX they are in the passenger footwell. There is a guy on the UK Honda CRX forum (www.hondacrx.co.uk/forum) that resolders these and sends them to you. Do a search for main relay. If U cant find it, PM the moderator 'LOZISGOD' and he will giv U the guys details.
