iTunes is either one extreme or another for people, they either find i easier then making toast, or they find it harder then calculus, plus on PC's it lags not matter how fast your computer is. i hate it. with a passion... and i ahve to work with it everyday too

I learned how to use itunes, but i hate it so much. So many clicks just to get one song on there.

not sure if windows media player still syncs to iPods/shuffles
but either way iTunes is the best way

that's probably just your pc. prior to converting to all mac, I never had a problem with iTunes lagging on my pc. then again, I had a pretty powerful pc

yeah Itunes has always been really complicated for me. Not really using it at as a media player, but more as using it to put music on Ipod. [:'(]Drag and drop MP3 players ftw!

No man i work with them everyday, and i am not just talking about my computer, i am talking about 90% of the people i talk to who have to wait 5 minutes for it to open and then their system lags whe trying to copy songs

i've never had problems with lag, just adding songs from two differnet computers and it always asking me if it wants me to delete my entire library and sync the one and things like that. I think its soooo much easier just to plug it in and drag and drop music files on, and its also convenient to use it to transfer music between two computers (like an Ipod wont let u do [:@])

enable disk usage in iTunes, plug in iPod...

go to my computer

find iPod

open iPod

create folder

move things into folder

disconnect

repeat on other pc

note, things in a folder on the iPod will take up useable space on the iPod as far as music to be able to play as well

however, the iPod will not play music out of these folders

there's other ways in the command line to do it on the mac, as well as several programs specifically for this purpose on the mac as well...

Fiirk, you work for apple support or something?

First, if I remember correctly, the latest version of iTune updated this. You only need to sign in your account, but I only use my iPod w my laptop at home so I'm not sure

For tranfering
-You need to show the hidden file first (My Computer or Control Panel > Tools> Folder Options>View> Show hidden files and folders
-Open up iTunes, go to File> Add File/Folder to Library> navigate to ipod's drive\iPod_Control\Music
-There will be folders like F01, F02... Select your songs/folder. Done. (ID3 tags will show in iTunes)
-If you dont know which song is which (they got renamed), go my computer>navigate to the F01, F02... folder. Select Artist/Title or whatever from the drop down View>Choose Details

that works phoenix but it doesn't get the files on the computer itself it only adds them into itunes from the ipod itself. no from the computer... but you have the right idea.

If you go Advance>Consolidate Library all the added songs will be copied to the computer (assuming you got the Library folder set up)
Also if you use "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" option (Preference>Advanced), the names of the songs will be changed back to original.

now your thinking:D. i was just gonna say copy the music folder from the ipod_control to your computer and then import that to itunes

for transfering songs, apple has a very detailed set ofstep by step directions on their website

and itunes is designed to be pretty seamless, for the most part, just like many other mac products. if you're lagging on itunes, then itunes isn't your problem, there is prolly something else wrong with your computer, like you only have 64 MB of ram or something.

and for the person (which i can't remember) that said that putting songs on is difficult, idk what ur doing, but all you do to load songs on itunes is to click and drag, and walla, your done!
