General Civic Talk - launching question ...

i have a y8 all stock and yesterday i was practicing my launch but i couldnt get a decent one ....
i just kept burning out i was launching around 4kthen i just called it a day ... well i was wondering wat im doing wrong ... and also do u guys know when the vtec for my y8 kicks in

well....launch at a lower RPM....when you drop the clutch, you should hear just a little chirping, thats when you've got your best launch...vtech should kick in at 4500 or 5k...i cant remember exactly, if sure if you use the search function you can find the answer.....its been said many times.

ive look it up in wikipedia but theres nothing there ... any suggestions ...

Mine kicks in at 2200 rpms :( But try feathering the clutch out of the hole too, you wont get traction just dumping the clutch.

yea if your high cam comes in at 2200 something might be wrong lol.

Ep si's vtec kicks in at 2200.

I launched at 4k all last summer, on azenis @ 40 PSI

yeah thats wat i thought ... my does kicks in around 5.5k too ... and wat do u mean by feathering it

You launch with the clutch, not the gas. Practice limiting your wheel spin with your left foot, not your right foot.
