Well, I was removing my valve cover (to re-paint), I managed to damage one of the plug wires... the engine sounds like it's still hitting on all four cylinders (I started it up and let it idle for a few minutes after everything was re-installed to see how bad the damage was) and the rpm's are staying relatively constant... the thing is, I want to replace the ignition wires before it does start firing on only three cylinders. I figured that a stock replacement set will cost me $30 to $50, I might as well spend a little more and go aftermarket. Anybody have experience with brands that can help here?

well, right now I'm not that heavily modified (i/h/e), but in a year or two, I'm going turbo, skunk2 cam, low-comp pistons, etc, so I'm thinking I'll probably have to upgrade the wires eventually (along with the rest of the ignition); why not just do it now?

Not worth it imo, oem replacements are more than sufficient, even with the "future mods" you've listed

Ihad a question related to spark plug wires......i was thinking about replacingmywiresandupgrading tosome nice aftermarket ones.I have a 1994 Civic Dx with an Aem Short Ram intake and i just replaced the plugs with Bosch Platinum 2and was wondering how much, if any performance gains i could expect to get from replacing my spark plug wires. Also, which ones would be the best value to get, cause i dont feel like spending $150 on Nology wires. Thanks

Welcome to the forum, for future reference please start a new thread with a different question other than the one posted. It looks like you've found the search function useful thought.
Anyways, to answer your question, you will not feel a performance gain. You may re-gain "lost" power from bad wires. The stock (OEM) spark plug wire should be just fine for natually aspirated applications, such as yours. If you want to go "performance" for cheap. Buy NGK wires. I initially got them because they were cheap and blue. Turns out they are a good brand and they look pretty too.

There is nothing better for a Honda than the NGKs. Unless, like riceburner said, you're HIGHLY modded. I dont think theres a car on this forum that reguires anything other than OEM.
