ok guys, i made the transition from conventional oil to full synthetic oil.
i have always been the type of person who bought some what cheap oil. Previous vehicles and this honda I have always used Walmarts SuperTech Oil.
I used SuperTech Full Synthetic 5w-30 today along with a SuperTech Oil Filter.

Yeah you'll notice a difference. At least I did. If you just switch over I suggest changing your oil sooner that you normally would to allow complete transfer over from regular to synthetic oil.

i'm personally going traditional to semi-synthetic this oil change, next one will be to mobil1 full synthetic

as always though, the toyo-roko oem filters, but i might change that up to an s2k filter after i run out of toyos

I read that article too about the Fram over the Hamp filters and such, so the s2k filter would fit on a civic?

unless you're low on oil, you won't feel any power increase when switching to synthetic oil from conventional. It's in your head and you want to think that it made an increase in power. It will allow your motor to run slightly smoother and synthetic lasts a bit longer than conventional, but it's not necessary for civics, most turbocharged vehicletake advantage of synthetics.

When i changed to synthetic oil, i noticed the engine climbed through those rpms a lot faster.

+1 with ej6buddy. it'll help smooth things out and help ur engine perform better, without a doubt, but freeing up enough noticable hp is unlikely unless ur ran with really crappy oil that would sludge like hell. if u want ur engine to last, spend the extra $5 on a good name brand oil such as Mobile. for filters, i used to use Fram, never had a problem, but i trust the Honda Genuine ones more.
