Sounds good. You should try to get a gallery up when you can. Can't wait to see what all you did.

got a question about the where to mount the rear ones. im thinking about right at the end of the front seats, but im woried people will kick them with their shoe and break them. where do you think i should mount them?

05-15-2007, 08:26 AM
how many are you planning on putting in? for my front ones I put 4 led's under each from seat and they are bright! I think you could just put em under the front seats and point them towards the back and i think you should be bright enough bro...depending on how many you put in...the leds are very bright and i don't think you'll have a problem if you mount them higher up towards the front of the seat and just point them toward the back...that's what i would do anyways, that way you have to have a long foot to reach em

true that man, il probly end up doin that! thanks for the advice! i bought four 6" LED tubes, and they are bright as hell haha i love them, totally worth the money i spent, which was like 30 bucks canadian at wal mart:)

hey bro check out my thread from a few weeks back:
http://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_408731/tm.htm

tons of great help from the guys...i wired them up through a switch and powered them through my amp...no problems at all so far and they are super bright! i love em!

phan10m
05-15-2007, 09:49 AM
well i wanna wire up some LED's but the only amp i have is this...

http://www.discount-car-hifi.ch/shop/dbimages/c150.jpg

its a Boss Chaos C150 200w 2ch amp.. what can i do with it? can i power it to my rear speakers? to get some more bass out of em?

tha_next_Kobe
05-15-2007, 10:06 AM
^i'm confused about what your talking about now...why are you talking about your speakers now?? i thought you were wanting to power some leds...you can do that by simply connecting your positive power line to the amp, then to the power supply of the switch but what are you asking now?

the_turtle
05-16-2007, 09:16 AM
also, i think you need the remote wire...not the main power wire...because if they dont have a fuse or anything to regulate the flow...then all that power should blow the LED's...also it doesnt matter what amp you have. and no, that wont give you more power to your speakers.

phan10m
05-16-2007, 09:25 AM
well i could use the amp for two things, thats wut i was saying. cuz if it gave more power ^ which it doesnt^ then i would use it for them. But Ill just use it to wire up some LED's

dude, you dont need an amp to wire LEDs lol just run a 12v into your interior fusebox and ground the black wire to your chassis and you're set. LEDs barely draw any current, i've left my underbody and trunk neons on all night and my car started the next morning.

if you have ones that pulse to the music, just wire it to your cigarette lighter, thats what i did instead of having it plugged in all the time

You don't need an amp to power leds...You simply have to find or make a power source from the battery and then find a ground. Power and ground the leds and voila: light.

hey i just wired up some flexstrips from oz this week. i got my 1st and 2nd orders from them on monday and tuesday. anyway i tucked them under my dash and they look great at night. today i wired another flexstrip into my dome light. have yet to see it at night. one thing bad with glow is its useless until dark. i'll post some pics too, maybe tomorrow.

thats funny, since i've started on glow since youre advice on flexstrips in another post. i'm gonna eventually use them on my UB, dome light was super easy and the flexstrips will bend to fit nicely. i used a 9.5 crammed in there and a 4.7 would have been fine. i like the blue much better than the boring white plus everything else will be/is blue. i'll work on pics.

haha got my rear LEDs wired and mounted under the front seats tonight. major questoin/problem though. i took the front seats out and unhooked the seatbelt connection things, and now the SRS light in the cluster stays on. i doulbe checked the connections when iconnected them back up and they are all good.is this a big problem?

dragoncivicsi
05-18-2007, 09:30 AM
dont think it should be any problem except it would bug the hell out of me. is there a ground wire there if so make sure its grounded well. i'll be taking my seats out real soon...wish me luck.

Unhook the battery.

addiction2bass
05-18-2007, 10:39 AM
ya just unhook the battery for awhile to reset the codes...........

and i know the flex strips will bend very tight turns;)

for mymap light i just have a green 9led bulb replacement bulb piece.... goes decently... i have only one tho in my front map lights, and my dome light light is a replacement white 9leds bulbs.... i got the white ones free cause when i ordered some blue and green ones for my truck and friends truck they screwed up and sent a white instead of blue one. and they said i could keep the white one and they sent me the right blue one.LOL
i just had to bent the contacts out and angled some to fit the larger bulb units.LMFAO

man i left my negative and positive terminals unhooked all night and hooked them up in the morning, but the lights still there [:@]any other suggestions?i dont wanna pay 60 bucks to get honda to reset it

tha_next_Kobe
05-18-2007, 12:40 PM
just a suggestion but i'd think about unhooking the battery then disconnecting your connections, and then try it again? if you just unhooked the battery while still leaving the connections the same, then i don't think it'd change after you hooked up the battery again...I'm not 100% sure though so maybe someone could help me out or something

Yea....... I actually went a different route, I took a set of THESE (http://superlumination.com/images/auto_bulbs/7443ss_w_wm.jpg) tail light bulbs that I had lying around (switched to better towers), took them out of their holders, soldered um together side by side and then soldered them to my dome light, they are freaking bright....

stupid question but does your DX have abs?

jason_hann53
05-18-2007, 10:44 PM
haha nope. the cluster thinks my car should have abs since i swapped clusters from an ex. so since its not there, the cluster detects a problem and the light stays on[:'(]

BlackDX
05-19-2007, 09:03 AM
Yea...... if you don't have it, pull the bulb :D

addiction2bass
05-19-2007, 10:32 AM
dito.... just pull the bulb. tho i believe to get that bulb you gotta pull the cluster apart at least the clear bezel and then the black bezel and you should be able to get to the bulb...
OR if your DX didnt have that orange plug in the back of it.... just leave it unpluged ;)

I think you need to do some more leds down there, loks alittle dim, but nice, might just be the camera im sure its brighter than that, i had the same problem with my foot wells i couldn't get a good picture that showed the brightness.

addiction2bass
05-22-2007, 07:24 AM
ya looks like ya needed some longer ones ;)

tho geting a glow picture can be tuff... i usualy go thru my cameras settings trying to get a good picture and then i just go thru them on my computer and find out which one looks good...
i got one setting that works preaty good but it shows the lights up REALY BRIGHT.LOL it flashes then takes a longer picture....
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/addiction2bass/NEW%2099%20Civic%20EX/NEW%20FLEXled%20underbody/frontledstrips008.jpg

jason_hann53

i used four 6" LED tubes. they had screws on each end, and i just screwed them to under the dash and under the seats. they have a little box that lets them pulse to the music, so i wired them through the cigarette lighter. i love them, they are bright and pulse awesome :)

Overurhead360
05-22-2007, 04:11 PM

maybe if ya pulled the led strip out and used a can of window FROST on the leds MAYBE it would help...

dragoncivicsi
05-24-2007, 09:42 AM
whats that gonna do for it?

BlackDX
05-24-2007, 03:33 PM
The frosting on the leds helps to diffuse the light to creat a better cast....... I've had mixed results with that.

I used to have an led board like the one Velocity on ebay sells and while it was white, it was freakin dimm.... So I ended up taking a set of these:
http://superlumination.com/images/auto_bulbs/7443ss_w_wm.jpg
that I had left over (swapped out for smt tower units) and removed the led's from the bulb base. I then soldered the two together and made this:
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t193/CarbonizedDX/leddome.jpg
and this is what it looks like lit:

dragoncivicsi
05-25-2007, 08:14 AM
i'm pretty happy with the dome light, light spreads pretty evenly because of the jagged finish on the dome cover. i noticed oznium has dome led's but they are square where my dome light is rectangle, sux. those led modules are pretty cool though.... hmm so many options. guys i think i may have a problem with glow. honestly i think "addicted" may be the correct term.

addiction2bass
05-25-2007, 04:37 PM

most people say RICE....or wanna be fastNfurious... BUT they dont know me.. ive been doing UB lighting since 1996 when i got my first car ;) and have done EVERY car ive ever owned with UB lighting!
