Distributor: Amazon (dhcelectronics)
Product: Viper 791XV Remote Start/Alarm
Car: 1999 Civic Ex
Price: $179 Shipped
Installation: No way in hell could I install it. I got it installed at the dealership for $100. It takes about 4 hours, but it took this guy about 2. I watched as much as I could, and there were just so many wires
Review: It is a great 2 way responder, and the remote goes very far. It tells you when you lock your car and when its unlocked. It has Remote Start. It also tells you which sensor set the alarm off. Its a nice quiet chirp when you arm/disarm it, which is good when coming home late at night. It has a bunch of Auxilary channels. It can be a pricey alarm, but it has nice options. Its convenient if your at a party and cant hear your alarm going off, because it pages you. A really great alarm overall

yea its keyless entry. I have a 5 spd, and if I want to remote start it, I have to hold in the clutch. Im thinking about getting it done so I dont have to hold the clutch. Im probly just gonna go for it

im prolly gonna get an alarm because ill be moving to a big city with a lot of theft/drugs in the area...so thanks for the review...but did you have it installed at the honda dealership or like a place that installs those alarms? we have one place here that sells alarms...so its really not a problem, just curious.

well with a manual... thats how its recomended!!!!!!

lets face it... what happens if ya leave it in gear by accident..... JUMP AND SMASH INTO SOMETHING....

but one thing you should know.... with alarms/remote starter systems.... ya dont have to wire all them wires. LMFAO its realy only like 1/2 the wires.......

these alarm systems just have so many inputs and outputs and most the time ya dont need half the wires to fully function....

BUT if ya dont know what your doing i sugest NOT TO TRY..... you need at least basic electrical knowledge and some car mechanics as well.......
and its always a test and test and test process... and when its all instaled.... test every entrance point and shock sensor area...

ive got a python which is same manufacture DEI... only difference is the branding and remote color preaty much.LOL
only reason i picked the python over the viper or i think it was clifford was cause the pythons remote control was black, the viper was blue, and i think the other one was light grey i think....

LOVE IT!!!!!!

i got mine for $180 shipped just look around. And Clifford has the carbon fiber remotes.
And about the wires, i know you dont use ALL of them, because I know they come with the wire for diesel cars and such

thats a nice looking remote addiction.

and to mybrokenblinker, its the clutch bypass. If you dont leave your car in gear then your good to go. But if you dont remote start it, you still have to hold the clutch in.

On my car i dont need to hold the clutch to start it and it manual. but funny thing about remote start my brother friend had remote start and left his car in gear by accident and as u can guess the car drove off and it crush into a mail box. and me personally my car is alway in some kind of gear when i park. it either in 1st gear or reverse. i have an Pestige car alrm and i had to take the remote start ability out it was only a few extra wires so

well if you got a manul just stick with using the STOP & GO feature... so you can start the car with the key then press the valet switch or how ever your system needs to be activated. check your manual..... then pull the key and go back inside or something...

thats the only safe way with a manual...

is your black and white wire (neutral safety switch wire) on the remote start harness grounded? did you hook up a tach wire? if not did you program your brain to turn off engine checking?

also did you hook up all your ignition wires? a lot of times cars have more then just one accessory and one ignition wire and all wires need to be hooked up.

PM me with any other questions u might have. I do this professionally

Also everyone keep a look out for my DIY thread on doing a Python 1400xp remote start on a 2006 Civic Si coupe. Just waiting on Remmy to post it for me
