Ive heard of people boosting and when they do they disconnect the vtec. Does anyone know why? And if vtec doesnt matter that much with a turbo should i just be get a lx or something a little cheaper without it if im boosting anyways? Im looking at getting a 92-95 (keepin the sohc) and putting together a turbo kit so am i going to have more power with the ex or will it not matter with the turbo?

 

Well it's you know it can always help but a lot of people just consider it another thing that can go wrong plus I think it makes tuning it harder/take longer.

the only reason i thinkk some one would intentionally do it in hopes of making more HP is by converting to the Vtec Killer cams

the only thing i can think of is a non-VTEC enginge getting a mini-me swap and then getting boosted. Things can go wrong with the mini-me swap, so its just more of a risk of something failing, so somethings people steer away from that, but an already VTEC engine + boosted = sex [8D]
