So another autocross was today and it was tons of fun. Got these video from inside the car. The last one is the fastest. I know it looks like I keep going wide on the first long right hand turn but there are some cones you can't quite see on the video. Except for the second run, I did go really wide on that one, you can see me get in some gravel. Overall it was tons of fun. I got five runs, but one of the videos was to large for youtube...enjoy!

Nope my first one was about 3 or 4 months ago, and I've hit a few events since then. I placed third in my class (csp)

nice runs, course looks pretty good. why are u in CSP? even with a swap and/or crazy a$$ suspension mods, i dont think u'dbe in CSP. maybe if u have LSD but even then i think u'd be in DSP or SM.

Yeah it is kind of weird. I'm in a class more advanced than I should be I think. That is what they keep assigning me to, but I think I am going to bring it up next event.

And yeah the course was wicked. Most of them you can just shift to second and leave it, but in this one there were three downshift points, which kind of sucked, but was fun to do. The one really tight turn after the long right sweeper at the beginning was a biatch. People were eating cones there all day. Wait till I post some pics of what I used for a camera moutnt

Here's what I used for a mount. I took a 2x4, marked where the holes in the headrest were and drilled through it. With decking screws I put that vertical part on the end to give it more height and hopefully make it easier to see cones. Then I taped a normal adjustable tripod camera stand to it and put my camera on that. Worked amazingly well for taking ten minutes and costing 0 money.

lol hey if it passes tech and works then sweet deal, esp for no money. video was nice too, not shakey or anything like that.

do u guys run an STS class where u run? thats what u should be in if u do, just register for it next time.

Yeah we do run an STS and STS2 (it's pretty huge and has most of the possible classes), thing is if you look into the rules on the scca sight, it says that sts was intended for sports sedans. Let me see if I can find the link, but it essentially insinuates that you should have a four door to run in sts.

read the italicized writing, "vehicles eligible for this category must meet the stock category eligibility requirements, and include all coupes/sedans with a minimum of four seats and four seatbelts...".

2 regions i race at both run STS and that class is mostly made up of coupes, some hatchs, very few sedans. no ones protested ever about a coupe, hatch, or sedan running in STS so i think its safe to say ur in STS lol.

Yeah, I'm in STS and I'm glad, otherwise, I would get whooped all the time, more-so than I already do.

you are definitely sts class.

p.s. why didn't you give it any gas? it looked like you were coasting half the time? it might just be the sound on the camera, kinda hard to hear on my comp.

Hey guys, I think I'll go for sts next time. Thanks for the advice. And ej6, I know it's kind of hard to tell in the video, but it's right at the limit of adhesion all the way through, any more gas and all the turns start to push REALLY wide as the tirest completely lose traction. (The track also has some gravel in some areas which causes the fastest line not to always be where it would normally be, but where the track is smoother)

you wouldn't be bumped into street prepared unless you were on race tires. STS sounds right for you.
