Default Scam or not?

Found a B18C Type-R full swap (everything, harness, ecu, axles, tranny, linkage) on eBay and asked the guy how much shipping is to Canada. He sent me an email saying he would sell it to me for $2100 USD shipped. Or I could send his partner in the Ukraine $1,600 shipped for the same swap (he has 2 more there). He only wants money orders.

But, he has sold 2 other engines on ebay and the buyers got them just fine. Also he says I can send the MO only after the engineis sent and I have the tracking number. However, the other 2 ebayers that got the engines could be friends in on the scam, and who knows he may send me a huge heavy box full of nothing right.

I just think its too strange, a b18c type-r full swap for 1600 shipped. I told him the only way Ill do it is if he gets paypal or I get the engine at my door first.

What do you think?

Scam, never under any circumstances buy something without traceable transactions. especially if they have a "partner" that you can send money to for a better deal. For all you know the package that is being sent could be a box of rocks

I wouldn't buy any used engine without seeing it in person first. Still can't tell if the inside is any good, but at least you'd know that it actually exists. Also it is much better to buy from a local place, because if it is bad you can take it back and demand satisfaction. The mail-order deals are often scams selling junk and counting on you not wanting to pay to ship it back.

Report the sale to ebay so he can't try to do the same to others.
