Suspension, Brakes, Tires & Wheels - tire size for 17's

hey, i've been thinking of upgrading my wheels (from the stock 14" hubcaps on a 1999 2dr civic EX) to 17's. I really dont want to have to recalibrate the speedo or anything, so what would the tire size have to be on them. I was thinking it would have to be 40 series, but i really dont know, it was jsut a guess. If anybody could tell me what series tires i would have to get that would b awesome

Tire sized I recommend-
205/40/17
215/40/17

225/45/17s will mess up your speedometer. Those are significantly bigger in diameter than 205/40/17s which are the most common 17' tire on a 5g Civic.
