Just got myself an '89 DX this week and noticed an abnormal noise coming from the tranny that seems to come and go. Sounds like a rattling or grinding noise throughout driving speeds and sometimes in idle. goes away when clutch is depressed ... anyone know what this might be? Any help would be appreciated!

lol, well, if you can remove the trans yourself, it will cost 40-50 bucks for the bearing. Go to www.majestichonda.com . They have every genuine Honda part you would ever need. You'll have to search your car and then under the transmission (or similar) category find the throwout bearing and order it.
But, if you can't remove the tranny yourself, I'd assume a shop or dealership would want 200+ bucks because of the labor to remove the trans and then they always double the price of the parts.
